Dremel Cordless Multi-Max Oscillating Kit Review

Dremel Multi max review

Dremel Multi-Max Review,Battery operated sanders,oscillating tool kits

My husband is a huge tool fanatic – his tools are his babies and he might even love them more than me – I’m not sure.  He has the rolling, locking toolboxes (yes multiple rolling tool boxes), and each tool has a very special place.  He has been a fan of Dremel for many, many years – and he has even been known to make the Tim Allen “roh roh roh” sound when using his Dremel tool.

He was beyond thrilled when I told him that I was getting a Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Kit for review.  Well, the “he” part of “we” would be reviewing it, really.   The Multi-Max is the latest, greatest thing produced by Dremel, and it is sure to be at the top of every man’s wish list this year (at least the DIY menfolk!).  This will make an excellent Father’s Day gift too – it is not to early to start thinking about that!

The Dremel Multi-Max Oscillating Tool offers do-it-yourselfers and pros a versatile and effective multitasking tool. With fast side-to-side motion, the Multi-Max can take on a variety of projects that involve repair, remodeling, or restoration.

Dremel Cordless Multi-Max Oscillating Tool Kit review,

Dremel Multi-Max features:

  • Powerful 1.5 amp motor – cuts through 1 ¼” oak door jamb
  • Compact design – provides access to tight spaces
  • Quick Fit™ feature – for faster accessory change
  • Separate on/off switch – maintains speed setting after tool is shut off
  • Ergonomically optimized soft grip for comfort and control
  • 10,000 – 21,000 OPM wide speed range – for optimal control
  • Electronic feedback circuitry for consistent speed under load

My husband used this for a project he had previously started {redoing the moulding around our bathroom door, and fixing the pocket door}, and he had a blast with the Multi-Max. Theses are his thoughts:

“The compact size of the sanding head made it really easy to maneuver and to get into tight spots.”

“The quick change sandpaper makes it easy to move from one grid to the next. ”

“The variable speed makes sure that you don’t damage the wood. ”

“The fast charge battery proved to live up to its name,  even on the initial charge.”

He also really loved the hook and loop {velcro} sandpaper attachment which makes changing of sandpaper grades quick and easy.  Also, the cutting attachment allowed him to make quick and straight cuts in moulding and sheetrock.  He says this makes an excellent tool for the weekend home hobbyist.   He does wish it came with more than 1 piece of sandpaper of each grit.  His advice: When you buy this, buy extra sandpaper too.  It is safe to say that he is quite smitten with the Multi-Max.  He  is one happy fella – believe me, I know 🙂  The Dremel Multi-Max absolutely lived up to the expectations he has formed due to his use of Dremel tools in the past.  The hubster gives it a big, huge thumbs up!

  11. wow… is there ANYTHING that this little baby CAN’T do?? Okay… maybe it wouldn’t be a good replacement for a hammer… lol
I love that you can cut a shape out of the wall (or whatever) without needing to cut in from the edge…
I want to try this with the engraver points & the Sanding Contours…

  12. I LOVE that you can use it to sand and get right into the corners. My husband and I do lots of wood working projects together and this is always a problem with a regular sander. It’s way too hard to get into the corners!
