We were down at our lake house last weekend, and had quite a surprise waiting for us – one of the ducks had babies! This thrilled me to no end, and I got a few shots of the babies and their mama, and wanted to share them with you. Get ready to say “Awww”.
And this one is just too cute for words. I got such a kick out of them diving in – this looks like synchronized swimming to me:
Mama duck finally brought them up to our lawn, and it was so cute. They make this little squeaking noise and they are very busy. I’m not sure where papa duck was – geez. When they headed back to the water, we enjoyed the little “plopping” sounds as they jumped in.
The following day we were surprised yet again. A different mama duck appeared with about 12 teeny tiny babies. The ducklings were little bitty round fuzz balls. I did get a couple of pictures, but unfortunately they are on my camera and I think I left the cord at the other house *sigh*.
We are still waiting for Vlad and Vera Wing’s babies to be born. Those are our geese friends π
I am so in love with our lake house, and watching the wildlife is so entertaining. It’s always hard to come back to this house π

Awwww! You’re right; cute overload ^.^
Isn’t nature and wildlife the best!?
I LOVE wildlife and nature! It’s so funny, at our current house we have squirrels and raccoons and at the new house it’s waterfowl. I love them all π
Baby ducks! Too cute, I can never get enough of baby ducks (or geese)!
What fantastic pics~! The one of the ducklings diving is awesome. I had to stop to let a momma and her new baby ducklings cross the road last week. They are so cute. I’m an animal lover of all kinds and spend most of my day watching or feeding them. Even the squirrels and chipmunks that raid the bird feeders are welcome but sometimes if I leave the door open they run into the house chasing each other fighting over food rights and I have to scoot them out lol.
I have four hummingbirds at my window feeder from 6am til 8pm everyday and they actually sit and look in at me and let me walk and touch the window without them flying off. Then I have 15 rabbits and 6 of them are new babies. They look like puff balls too lol. So cute! This is our third litter so I have all sizes right now . They run loose on the property in our back yard and I can watch them from the dining room table out the sliding glass doors. So I know exactly what your talking about π
We love wildlife! Our current home is in a very wooded, hilly area. This year an owl moved in nearby and it hoots in the evenings as Lily and I are tending to the garden. Lily will hoot back. It is fun to hear the owl.
Cute pictures! I especially liked the “bottoms up” picture. π
Vera Wing …a very cute name for a bird.
Thanks! It just seemed so fitting π
How cute.
