Easy Garden Makeover Tips

Partnered Post Disclosure

There are two types of people: those who love spending time outdoors getting stuck in with nature, and those who tend to ignore the outside of their home in favor of the inside. If you fit into the latter category because you don’t have time to spend managing a garden, or because you simply aren’t inclined to garden, you don’t have to have an overgrown and disastrous backyard.

Check out these quick and easy tips to give your garden a makeover with minimal effort. Even if you don’t love spending time outdoors, your garden will still look beautiful and manicured.

Modern Garden

Remove the Clutter

Many people use gardens as dumping grounds for clutter they don’t want or can’t fit in their house. You would be surprised at the difference simply clearing away excess items can have on your outside space. If you don’t already have one, invest in a shed. If you don’t have much clutter but you do need somewhere to store bikes, you can buy smaller bike storage units.

It’s not just household items that can take up space in your garden, it’s garden-centric items like furniture, too. You might have lots of unused pots and planters, or perhaps you have two garden dining sets and you only need one. Whatever it is, remove excess clutter that is taking up space and open up your garden. Not only will it look tidier, it will also make your garden look bigger, too.

Focus on the Details

Gardens are never going to look 100% pristine because of nature and wildlife, but there are ways you can make your garden look neater and more refined by focusing on the small details. This means cleaning your patio or decking, painting the fence, pulling out weeds and painting any parts of your home that need painting, such as window ledges and back doors. You could also add some Metal Wind Spinners to decorate your deck or outdoor seating area.

Add Lighting

Small details are key when it comes to making your garden look nice, but you don’t need to spend a fortune on them. If your garden has fences either side, you can easily add string lights from one fence to the other. This will give your outdoor space a tropical look and make it appear like you’ve put in more effort than you have, when in reality, it takes all of 10 minutes to put some lights up.

Fix Your Lawn

The biggest part of your garden is likely to be the lawn, so if your grass looks worse for wear, so will the rest of your garden. For those who aren’t too keen on gardening, fake grass is a good substitute. It works well in gardens where there isn’t a lot of natural sunlight. For example, artificial grass in London gardens work well because of the shadows cast by surrounding buildings, and it also works well in hot climates where the grass might be bleached by the sun, too.

Sprucing up your lawn will automatically make your garden appear neater, so if your grass is letting you down, an easy change you can make is to swap it with something else.

Soft Furnishings

The final step you can take to easily makeover your garden is to add soft furnishings in areas, for example, bean bags as a seating area if you don’t have tables and chairs. If you have a dining set, add a rug to make a more homely vibe.

These are just a few of the ways you can easily change the aesthetic of your garden. Will you be trying any?

The lawn is likely to make up the majority of your garden, so if it begins to appear worn down, your entire garden will too.
