It’s a party in a bowl!

My family and I are huge movie buffs, and frequently gather around our huge TV for a family movie night. Of course any good movie night needs several things to snack on. Our latest movie night was a little different {and dare I say special?}. I am one of the lucky people who was chosen to try Orville Redenbacher Pop Up Bowls before they hit store shelves! Whomever thought of this idea is a genius…seriously.

Eating microwave popcorn from a bag is fine and all, but having to put your hand in the greasy bag to grab some popcorn? Yuck! Of course there is always the option of pouring it into separate bowls for everyone, but that is a pain, and it also uses too many dishes. After a fun family movie night, the last thing I want to have to do is clean the kitchen. I am usually ready to toddle off to bed right when the movie ends.

I couldn’t wait to receive the Orville Redenbacher Pop Up Bowls, and when I did, I immediately had to try it {seriously – wouldn’t you?}. I have been so excited about these, and when the big day arrived, I carefully read the directions and put one of the packs {six were included in the box} in the microwave. I stood by not-so-patiently and watched.

Actually it only took 2 1/2 minutes or so to finish popping.  I pulled the bag out and opened the top and voila!

For our family movie night, we chose a movie that appealed to all of us, and I made four bags of popcorn – just because I wanted each of us to try it, and get their thoughts.  Well, I didn’t think I would have to worry about their opinions, and I was right.  My family loves this idea as much as I do, and there was no bickering about sharing {and even if they had to share a bag, it would be super easy to do with the Orville Redenbacher Pop Up Bowls}.

The popcorn was quite tasty, and as I mentioned above, super easy and neat.  I didn’t have to reach my arm in a buttery, sticky bag to grab a handful of popcorn.  I really liked how the bowl stayed upright and was quite sturdy. I do not think I will ever go back to regular microwave popcorn again.

Orville Redenbacher Pop Up Bowls are not available in stores, but they are coming soon –  February 20th. SWEET!  I know I will be stocking up on these – how about you?
