From the wine that would become the inaugural vintage for Flipflop Wines in 2009 until the present which offers 7 varieties you could say that Flipflop wines have come a long way in a short time. I should also mention that during this time Flipflop has already earned 4 “Best Buy” ratings from Wine Enthusiast and this year the flipflop Moscato is one of the top medal-winning wines across fifteen major wine competitions. Have I piqued your interest? The price tag will seal the deal then because at just $7 a bottle Flipflop can hold its own in blind taste competitions against much more expensive wines. Offering Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, Riesling, and finally the Moscato there is a wine for every taste and occasion.

For my review I sampled the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. We had the Cabernet Sauvignon with steaks one night and it paired perfectly. Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite type of wine and the Flipflop Cab will be on my list to buy. In the summer we grill a lot and our family loves fish so I seem to

drink Chardonnay more during that time. We decided on grilled tilapia, spring salad, and rice for dinner with the Chardonnay. The wine was a little dry, but still delicious. We finished the bottle outside while enjoying the warm night, after the girls were in bed. It was perfect. When it was the Merlot’s turn I decided to just have a glass by itself. The Merlot was great for a glass after dinner and dishes were done – you know when you can just kick back and relax. It is also a dryer wine but had a nice finish to it. I sound like a broken record but I enjoyed all of the wine very much. Next on my list is to test out their newly released 2010 California Moscato. Maybe my next Girls Night In I will try it out with my friends.

It thrills me when companies give back. A partnership between Flipflop wines and Soles4Souls began to help put shoes on the feet of the more than 300 million children in the world who don’t have them. Flipflop’s dedication to this cause is helping put shoes on more than 100,000 feet. The flippin’ good deeds challenge is a program for bloggers to encourage their communities to clean out their closets and donate gently worn footwear to those in need. Not only would you be doing a flippin’ good deed but you would have a chance to win a trip for two (2) to one of their international distribution trips. What an honor that would be wouldn’t it? Imagine the faces of the children receiving shoes they so desperately need. For more information on the flippin’ good deeds Challenge and the Official Rules, please visit http://giveshoes.org/flippingooddeeds. The Challenge began on September 6, 2011 but will run until November 15, 2011 so you still have time!

The next time that you are at your grocery store and you are standing in front of wines dazed by all the choices you have,  give the bottle with the colorful label and flip flips a chance. I am more than impressed with the quality of wine that Flipflop offers for $7 a bottle! You won’t be disappointed with them as your choice!

Visit Flipflop wine’s website for information on all of their wine and descriptions of each. You can also find flipflop wines Facebook and Twitter.
