Fun books for Easter
Easter is almost here, and to celebrate, I want to tell you about some fun books that you and your children might enjoy!
First up is Somebunny Loves Me:
Somebunny Loves Me by Parry Gripp. If you don’t know who Parry is, he is an Emmy-winning singer-songwriter whose quirky and popular tunes, have made his YouTube channel a smash hit with almost 140 million views! These tunes include “Nom, nom, nom” and “It’s Raining Tacos”. Parry Gripp is an avid animal lover and he has a bunny named Bruno, who is often the drive behind many of his songs. In Somebunny Loves Me, Parry’s sweet and silly rhymes are cleverly written to share how children can best understand, appreciate and interact with a variety of fuzzy, feathered or scaly pals. The book is full of adorable, full-page photographs, and what is really neat is that Parry also includes a personal note in the back of the book, which gives kids and their parents tips on how to be good pet owners. I love this idea, as sometimes kids can be a little rough with new pets. HE includes tips on keeping pets safe, clean and healthy and how to best interact with them. He also offers pointers on on how to make a pet music video! This book is a hardcover picture book, for ages ages 4-8. ARV $16.99)
Check out the Somebunny Loves Me music video and sing along as you and your kids turn the pages (hopefully with their favorite pet by their side!)!
Who’s Who in the Bible – Everyone you need to know from the old and new testaments! From Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to Paul’s ministry to the ancient world, this is a beautiful book which pairs must-have information about the different biblical personalities. The book is very colorful, and each vibrant profile is accompanied by fast facts. Some of the facts included are which books of the Bible the person appears in and what he or she is best known for. I think this is such a great idea for a book, because the bible can be a bit hard to understand sometimes, especially for children. This book features spreads which cover the history, archaeology, and geography associated with the included notable individuals. I also love that there is an alphabetical index which covers even more names that are not mentioned in the profiles. This ensures that kids reading the Bible won’t have to ask, “Who’s that?”. This is a hardcover book for ages 8-12. ARV $14.99.
A Seed is the Start – Spring is about to spring into action, and the magical seed is where it all begins. I am a big fan of gardening and I often included my kids when I would work in the garden at the first sign of Spring. They had so much fun watching their plants grow.
This book contains beautiful photography and lyrical text which pairs beautifully with comprehensive picture captions in award-winning author Melissa Stewart’s story about the surprisingly diverse world of seeds. Kids can learn all about plant cycles, from how seeds begin to grow, the fascinating ways seeds travel, and what it takes for a seed to become a strong and sturdy plant. This is a hardcover picture book for ages 6-9. ARV $17.99.
100 Ways to Make the World Better – Who says kids can’t change the world? If they’ve got the will, Nat Geo Kids can guide the way! This book contains fun activities, hands-on projects, advice from National Geographic explorers, and interviews with the experts. It also includes weird-but-true facts, and other inspiring ideas.
In keeping with the National Geographic Kids mission, 100 Ways to Make the World Better is full of practical, positive, and powerful ideas that every kid can think about – from simple acts of kindness to fun and creative adventures, to good-for-the-planet projects. The ideas are presented as simple concepts and use engaging graphics and photographs. A good portion of the ideas are followed by detailed supporting information. It is awesome for kids to get a sense of their own power to make a difference in this world. It helps them understand what actions contribute to the best outcomes. “Sometimes all it takes is starting with something simple, and before you know it, together we’ve reshaped our planet for the better!”. This is a paperback book for ages 8-12. ARV $9.99.
