I always have the best intentions of blog hopping and leaving comments. Inevitably though, each day flies by, and I tell myself that tomorrow will be the day that I visit other blogs. Yeah, right. Again, I have the best of intentions.
But guess what? Today I actually pulled up Google Reader and started having a looksie at the hundreds of blog feeds that are there. I clicked on the first one and found a couple of really interesting posts! I commented! I made my way to the next feed and found a blog that made me laugh hysterically. How on earth have I been missing these amazing posts? I couldn’t get enough, so made my way through a few more – with each one offering something different.
One blog post really touched my heart. You see, the blogger had recently lost her mother. She had also lost her father a year ago. Isn’t that pretty much what I am going through right now? It is, and I can fully understand how she is feeling. The raw emotions, and desperately missing her parents. I left her a comment to let her know I am here if she needs me – even though I don’t know her.
I headed over to the blog of one of my minglers/contributors and found out that her husband might be relocating due to his job. They are looking for a new house to buy. It made me realize that I haven’t a clue about the bloggers I should definitely be paying attention to. I want to know about what is going on in their lives.
Google Reader is your friend. It is full of amazing blogs and interesting posts. I am going to make it a priority to look through my reader daily. I am going to read, and I am going to comment. The amount of talent out there is mind boggling, and I am kicking myself for not realizing this sooner. I even did a little organizing in my reader – to break them down for easy reading.
How about you? Will you look through your reader today and pick five or so blogs to read? Or even one a day?

You know, I’ve been thinking the same things recently. I don’t really have time to read blogs during the school year. However, I’ve had time to this summer. I just read where one of my favorite bloggers was actually hit by a car! OMG! I agree, we should take the time to read others’ posts and reach out them.
Ih my goodness, that is horrible! I hope she is okay…
I read everyone’s blog on my reader. Problem is it takes FOREVER with my computer for most blogs to come up so I only comment once in awhile. But now I have a fancy new computer so hopefully I will be able to comment more.
It’s so nice not to be alone!
