Enjoy Delicious Treats Each Month with Gramma in a Box! – Review

Disclosure review
My girls love when they get to spend a day with their grandma.  I also love it because they usually come home with a plate of cookies or brownies or cake that they made that day.  That is one of their favorite things about grandma’s house – getting to help bake, decorate, and enjoy a sweet treat with grandma!

If your kids or grandkids are anything like my girls, then they will certainly enjoy Gramma in a Box – a monthly subscription box containing materials for two candy crafts, plus home-baked cookies, frosting, and sprinkles for decorating.  Each box has enough to make 15-20 finished treats, and many of the boxes have a holiday or season theme.

We received the April box, with a fun spring theme.  The box had everything we needed for three spring cookie and candy crafts – Marshmallow Flowers (colorful mini marshmallows and yellow/white melting chocolate), Colorful Bird’s Nests (colored crispy rice cereal, melting chocolate, and mini jelly beans), and Spring Cookies (sugar cookies, three colors of frosting, and crystal and rainbow sprinkles), plus wax paper, paper cups, and cards with instructions for each craft.  The cards also list all of the ingredients, including possible allergens.  The items are perishable, so be sure to open and get started right away!

We recently had a snow day, and I could not think of a better way for my girls and I to spend the afternoon together than making some delicious spring treats.  With all of the materials provided, preparation was easy – all I had to do was take everything out of the box and we were ready to get started!  There were easy-to-follow instructions for each craft, and my girls were pretty much able to do everything by themselves.  They especially enjoyed decorating the cookies because they could do whatever they wanted – drawing on designs with colorful frosting and adding sprinkles.  The best part, of course, was enjoying our delicious treats.  Even though it was snowing outside, we were celebrating spring inside!  I plan on keeping the instructions for the Marshmallow Flowers and Colorful Bird’s Nests so we can make these treats in the future!

Gramma in a Box subscription boxes are perfect for kids of all ages, as well as their parents and grandparents.  If you are interested in receiving a box to try out, you can now get your first box (regularly $20) for only $1 by using the code “19off” at checkout!  If you continue your subscription, you can either set up auto-pay ($20/month) or prepay and save a little on each box – three months for $55, six months for $110, or twelve months for $220 (you can even choose which months you want to receive a box for the three-month or six-month subscriptions).  Boxes are shipped the first week of every month, so get your order in by May 3 for the May box!
