Happy 2010! What did you do last night? I hope you had something exciting to do. We stayed home, which was actually kind of nice. A few years back we became homebodies on New Year’s Eve, as it somehow is not appealing anymore to be out and about with all the craziness!
Of course on January 1st of every year, I start to think about the dreaded “resolutions”. Well gosh, aren’t I pretty good most of the time? Hmmm perhaps I am not, as I always feel the need to make some type of resolutions. Okay here are a couple of mine:

I will try to be more patient. I tend to get frustrated very easily – I always have. I remember as a child hurling tossing a book across the room because I didn’t understand something. Most of the time it was an innocent math book that found itself implanted in the wall. Don’t get me wrong – I am not violent – just frustrated…and usually only with books or electronics. My husband can tell you all about that – many a time he has found a vacuum cleaner, or another “bad” object in the backyard because it made me mad.
I will try to cook at home more often. I have come to dislike cooking. At our old house, we had a huge kitchen with countertops that went on forever, and cabinets galore. I loved to cook, bake and I even made fresh bread regularly. Since we moved to this house six years ago, I have found that I am not cooking as much. Our current kitchen is not user friendly at all. There is a serious lack of cabinet and counter space, and I spend half my time looking for a certain utensil.
Don’t even get me started on the skinny little cabinets above the stove where the spices are. I pretty much have to pull out everything to find the spice I need for the particular dish I am making. {Side note: The frustration thing comes in here….spices have been known to fly across the kitchen. Wheeeeeeee!}. I mumble and grumble every time I cook, and complain to my husband. What do I expect him to do about it? I have no idea. Riddle me this – Why then, when he was making deviled eggs the other day, and spices came cascading down upon him and the kitchen floor, did I say to myself “Mmmmm hmmmm – see?” He never cooks, but he does make excellent deviled eggs.
Okay so there you have it. Frustration and impatience get the better of me. I will work on those – promise!
What are your New Year’s Resolutions for 2010?
HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR!
