Having Fun Learning Science with Basher Books

May 25, 2016 by Tara Kramarsky 53 Comments

Disclosure review

As a homeschooling Mom of 3 kids (17, 13 & 8), I’m always looking for books, TV shows & movies that are educational but in a fun way. It’s really so much easier teaching subjects when the kids are having fun doing it too. When Kingfisher Children’s Books asked if we’d like to check out their line of Basher Science books, I knew that my kids would definitely love reading them.

Having Fun Learning Science with Basher Books

Basher Books are a line of nonfiction books that take concepts like chemistry, biology, and the periodic table and presents them in a fun way that kids will find fun and parents will love, too. Colorful illustrations with great characters, funny phrasing and an engaging way of presenting all the material, kept my kids reading these books over & over again.

My oldest son, who is 17, loved looking through all of them and learning things in a different way than he had in school. My 8-year-old son hasn’t learned about a lot of these things yet but he’s super smart and loved flipping through each of the books, skimming each page and looking at the illustrations. These are books that I know will be on our family bookshelf for years to come!

Kingfisher Children’s Books have lots of other great educational books as well, like their “It’s All About…” series of books. The “It’s All About…” books are a 10-book series that bring science related topics like spiders, bugs, sharks, the rain forest and more in a bright, colorful, fun way that kids will love.

Each book is filled with facts about the topic, plus collector cards that can be torn out and kept or traded with friends. You’ll also find a glossary in the back so kids can look up any words they might not know from the reading. One more way to touch the science topics with your kids are the science worksheets available for download here.
