Hide those ugly cords behind the wall!

It’s magic! Actually it isn’t magic, but it IS genius. It sure feels like magic though when we hide those ugly cords behind the wall. This is especially true when you have mounted a television set to the wall but the outlet is towards the floor. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to see the cords – it just looks kind of junky to me. I would much rather have the cords be invisible, especially when we have company over.

So what is this magic I speak of? It is the In-Wall Cord & Cable Power Kit by Legrand. I didn’t know such a thing existed, but when I was asked to try it out and write about it, I was happy to do so. Basically it offers easy routing of your TV power and HDMI cable in-wall, and the best part? No electrical wiring required!

My husband was the one who actually installed this, but I watched and took notes. The kit included everything we needed for installation, including a handy hole saw to quickly make the proper size hole for easily sliding the outlet ends into the sheetrock.

The outlet ends are well made and have self-contained anchors that securely hold them in place. My husband can’t rave enough about what a nice kit this is, and how they thought of everything for installation to go smoothly. If you want to install it even more quickly, you could use a drill.

The kit includes a flexible plastic rod with a hook to fish the cords through, which was really helpful.

This is what your new power outlet looks like after installation {photo below}. You have a handy power outlet right behind your TV! I was happy to see that the walls weren’t damaged during installation.  It was a clean cut and the outlet fits in snugly.

We are really impressed and are seriously considering buying an In-Wall Cord & Cable Power Kit for each room in our home. It just makes everything look SO much cleaner and tidier. And that makes me a happy wife…
