Hungry Jack Premium Hashbrown Potatoes Review + Giveaway

Hungry Jack Hash Browns

Hungry Jack Hash Browns

Hungry Jack Hash Browns

Sometimes the simplest foods are the tastiest. Take hashbrowns, for example. They’re really just potatoes fried in oil, perhaps with a little bit of salt and pepper for seasoning. But they’re just so darn good. I can’t think of many things better than starting the day off with a plate of perfectly cooked hashbrowns. That’s why I was so excited when I had the opportunity to try Hungry Jack Premium Hashbrown Potatoes.

Made from 100 percent Idaho® potatoes, Hungry Jack® Premium Hashbrown Potatoes come fully cooked and seasoned and require no refrigeration. In just four easy steps, you can prepare tasty, restaurant-quality hashbrowns in approximately 15 minutes.

Yes, you read that right–these potatoes are pre-cooked and already seasoned for you. I will admit, I was a little bit skeptical at first. I’ve never seen hashbrowns that came in a shelf-stable box like this. So, fully prepared to be disappointed, I added hot tap water to the carton and let it stand for 12 minutes, as instructed. I heated olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and cooked the hashbrowns until just this side of burnt (hey, I like them that way!). Upon tasting Hungry Jack Premium Hashbrown Potatoes, my skepticism gave way to satisfaction–these are really good!

Of course, one of the other great things about hashbrown potatoes is that you can use them in so many different recipes. The Hungry Jack website has a lot of really great meal ideas and one that stood out to me was the Zucchini Parmesan Cakes. I made them for dinner over the weekend and my husband and I were not disappointed. I was glad to see that Hungry Jack Premium Hashbrown Potatoes work well in recipes because with all the hashbrown recipes I have on hand, I know I’ll want to keep my pantry fully stocked! That’s what’s great about these–they’re not refrigerated so you don’t have to worry about them going bad in a few weeks and they’re not frozen so you don’t have to worry about freezer burn either. Now you can have hashbrowns whenever you like!

Hungry Jack® Premium Hashbrown Potatoes are a budget-friendly, quick and easy solution to make a special and delicious family meal. Here are some ideas:

  • Use as a side dish with chicken, sausage, burgers, roast pork or
  • any meat and gravy
  • Prepare breakfast for dinner, also known as “brinner”
  • Make a hashbrown omelet filled with cheese and tomatoes
  • Jazz up your hashbrowns with veggies, cheese and spices

One carton makes a pound of potatoes, which is 6 servings. The price for this? Only $1.79!

Hungry Jack Premium Hashbrown Potatoes are available nationwide at major grocery store retailers, such as Walmart, H-E-B, Safeway, Albertsons, Kroger, Publix, Food Lion, Super Target and other retailers.
