I saw this story, and was absolutely and completely floored. We all have goals, and usually they include “good” things. There is nothing good about this woman whose goal is to be the world’s fattest woman. Ideally, she would like to reach 1,000 lbs. in two years. She fears that running around after her kids might screw up her plans. Who does this??
It is obvious she cares about only herself. Did she stop to think what this will do to her health, and how her kids will be the ones to suffer when she dies? Has she thought about the exorbitant health care costs that I am fairly certain will fall on taxpayers?
Currently she uses a motor scooter to go shopping, and she moves as little as possible so she doesn’t burn calories. She will need to eat 12,000 calories a day to reach her goal. Unbelievable. She eats loads of sweets to gain weight and get this: She operates a website where men watch her consume food fast. ICK. Apparently, this is how she pays for her $815 weekly food bill. Her partner loves her current size, but he wishes she were bigger. Way to go dude!
I personally think that money would be better spent seeing a psychiatrist. She is nuts…completely nuts. I feel so sorry for her children. I imagine that their home is a pig sty, since she doesn’t move (by choice), and her kids have to live in the filth. What kind of example is she setting for her children? Well, I can only imagine that they will be incredibly unhealthy if the food she chooses are the only ones available to them. I do hope she at least has the common sense to bring healthy food into the house for her kids. I kind of doubt it though.
What on earth would possess someone to have this as their goal in life?

I saw this the other day and it just made me ill to think this would be someone's life goal. I guess it boils down to the "5 minutes of fame" people seem to crave and it doesn't matter how they get it, just that they get it! I would think if her husband loved her he would want her healthy not bed ridden and killing herself.
This is just sad to me. I know you wouldn't think of it but on my moms side everyone has a weight problem. I got my dads genes. My sister's insurance covered gastric bypass surgery because the doc gave her a estimate of 5 years to live because of her health. We all freaked out! She has five kids all under the age of 7 and just turned 25. For this women to want to be this way is sad! My sister was around 300lbs and is now around 200. She lost almost a 100 in the past couple of months (which I don't know is to healthy either) but if her health is getting better, that's what I'm thankful for 🙂
What boggles my mind even more so is that people PAY to watch her eat on her website! I love that she claims she eats healthy -uhhh- Last I heard, eating obscene amounts of junk food is not considered healthy. Now, if she ate mountains of fresh produce I could say she is eating healthy to the extreme.
She is nuckin' futs, her husband is an enabler, and all the people paying her money through her site are twisted individuals in their own right.
They say it takes all kinds….but sometimes you really wonder about people. Aside from her desire for the 15 minutes of fame, I'm assuming she also has a death wish? For surely, her heart (among other organs) are not going to be able to keep up the strain they are being put under.

I saw this on the news and it just disgusted me. I cannot believe that she is doing this to herself and her family. I agree with you, she needs to get herself to a psychiatrist along with the rest of her family. Her husband is also insane.
I think DCF has to get in there and check on those kids because as you say, they cannot be living in a healthy environment.

I also saw this and thought she is absolutely absurd! I was planning on blogging about it too, but time has not been my friend lately. I think the reason she is doing this is just for the money. There are lots of people out there that find it attractive and are paying her money to see pictures of her! They are making her delusional – making her think it is okay to be like that. 1,000 pounds? Crazy!
Sad that this is the only way she can achieve fame. Her poor kids.
UGH! I saw this report as well and all I could think is her poor children! And who on earth is going to insure her? What if she dies…who will be there for her children? Absoutley gross!
This just disgusts me. I think that because this is something that she "wants" to do, then drop her off her insurance and let her fork over some cash to cover all the outrageous expenses. Who knows, maybe she is in kahoots with a TV producer and she will have her own reality show.
I just think that it all too sad.
To see this and then think to myself that I can't get any health coverage. Our income is either too high or we can't afford it.
I battle lyme disease with no insurance coverage, she's bringing struggles upon herself. And will likely if she doesn't already qualify for disability.
Something else that I think about with this is, who's looking out for her children.
Could or is this some sort of abuse, or is it on the fence of being physical and emotional abuse.

OMG this is hysterical, what a whack job. At least now that they passed the health care bill, we can all pay taxes to pay her medical costs that she will encounter down the road. Why would someone do this to themselves, when you look up fat slob her pic is in there LOL

This is so sad~ I believe it's a media attention thing. Wow~ this just goes to show the mentality of some people. She's taking charge of her health, the wrong way, I should say.
I only feel sorry for those children. I hope some one in childcare is watching this.

Just noticed this post…I am appalled! I really can't believe anyone watching would not take the safety of the kids into consideration. Obviously they are being ignored (as caring for them must work off SO many calories!) THINK, even if they are not eating the same foods, they are WATCHING their mom do this and will think it is NORMAL! So sad for this or any other person to degrade their body and their lives for attention…for some ridiculous record in a RECORD BOOK or the media attention who will undoubtedly "FEED" on this and just fuel that flame. I think it was Dr. Phil yesterday where larger people were on trying to justify their size and said they were HAPPY and healthy…that being overweight doesn't (always) lead to disease and early death. I am sorry…but statistics speak for themselves. I am lucky, I was not genetically prone to be TOO overweight, but as a mom of 6…I have to work at eating healthy, and am forever fighting off the extra weight and trying to turn flab into fab.(not winning that one at all, as am sick with chronic illness to boot. I want to be the best steward to the body GOD GAVE ME and unless suffering from a very real eating disorder and need help, I do hope and believe we should all strive for this goal.

This is absolutely outrageous, and I feel it is a form of child abuse. She doesn't want to take care of her child, soon, she's going to be UNABLE to care for her child, and she is making money from getting fat? What a fabulous example she is setting for her innocent children. Someone needs to intervene and take those poor children from her. If she wants to ruin her life, fine, but her childrens? I don't think so.
This woman is totally crazy and as much as I hate big government taking over our lives, her kids should be taken away if this is what she is exposing them to. Like you I have a lot of questions on what they are living through. It is a sad situation.

I am a big girl, but I have exercised and tried to keep the weight off. I cannot IMAGINE trying to gain weight.
She will probably not be able to walk normal again and her poor children are going to be at risk. I mean if she falls on one of them, that would be horrid!
