Gear Power
There is nothing worse than being out and about and watching my iPhone battery quickly losing it’s battery power. My stomach sinks, as I have come to depend on my phone so much. Unless I am somewhere and my car is with me, I am in big trouble. I do have a car charger, but often times I go places without my car.
As a busy blogger and a mom and wife, I HAVE to depend on my iPhone for communication, research, photos and so many other things. I previously bought a portable iPhone charger that had a little “piece” that you disconnected and took with you. Well that was a big mistake and waste of money, as it only charged my phone a tiny bit, before it went dead as well.
I was thrilled when I was offered a new type of portable iPhone/iPad charger for review! The Gear Power by IO Gear {Model GMP7K – $59.95 ARV} is a completely different type of charger. With its dual ports, you can not only charge one iPhone, but TWO – at the same time! Or it can charge a tablet and phone at the same time.
I am absolutely in love with this product, and it is nice to feel confident that it will keep me “connected” when I am on the go. When it is fully charged, it will provide me with hours of worry-free use on my phone.
I took this to our lake house a couple of weeks ago for girls weekend. Since we all have iPhones, this came in incredibly handy. Not only did we take it with us when we ran errands and shopped, but we set it up on the counter and used it as our official “charging station”. We could take turns, charging two phones at once, which saved time and allowed us to do the things we enjoy.
The Techie stuff:
The Gear Power dual charger has 7,000 mAH capacity. The charging output is 2.1A with once device connected, or 1A per each USB port when there are two devices connected. It has built-in surge protection as well as over charge and temperature protection.
The Gear Power charges incredibly fast! It seems much, much faster than a normal wall charger. I charged it with the included 5V 1A power adapter, but it can also be charged with your computer’s USB port (although this is a slower method). Once all four indicator lights have turned green, it is ready to use. It really couldn’t be any easier. After I plug in my iPhone or iPad, I just depress the silver battery capacity button and voila! The Gear Power will charge an iPhone 5 five times, with power to spare.
If you take a lot of business trips, or if your family has several phones, tablets, handheld games, digital cameras, etc., the Gear Power dual charger is a must-have. It is solid, dependable and easy to take wherever you go (it even comes with a carrying pouch). There are two other models available as well, the GMP2K’s which has a 2,400mAh charge {ARV $29.99} and the GMP10K {$79.95 ARV} which has 11,000mAh of battery capability. Whichever model you choose, you will be happy you did!

My daughter needs this.She too, depends on her iphone for her business and gets many calls a day. She also has to make sure she is charged during her conferences, etc. which can take a long time so her iphone has to keep a charge

This is a very good product that quickly charges a Iphone so it does not run out power. I like that I can take it with me on vacation or anywhere when I need a charge. This O Gear model gives peace of mind, and does not cost much!

This would be great for me because I am always forgetting to recharge my phone, lol. I always remember my tablet but my phones have to go completely dead before I remember to charge them.
This sounds great. I am always charging my phone and it usually runs dead just as I need to make an important call when Im away from home. I like that you can charge more than one on it and its not real big space wise either which matters to me to

Sounds like a nifty gadget to have, my hubby has several business trips coming up, so he needs to have this device for his Smart phone.

This sounds like a great product..My kids have so many gadgets and chargers laying around it is so hard to keep track of what charger belongs to what gadget..
