Just as I suspected, it is even more impressive than my older model (which is hard to believe). Â One thing I love with both models is the ease of use. I am a busy gal, and don’t have time to fiddle around with something each time I want to use it. With the IO Gear 12k, you just plug in the usb cord in the input jack and the other end into an outlet. When it’s done charging, use a regular smartphone cord and plug the usb end into the IO Gear and the other end into your phone!

Even if you haven’t used the IOGear 12k in awhile, it will still hold a charge. For instance, if you haven’t used it in around 5 or 6 months, it will still retain about a 75% charge. Good to know!

My power goes out all the time from storms, and sometimes it can be out for days. It would be great to have more time on the ipad so i don’t have to go a friends to recharge as often.

i need a portable charger because we’re a very tech-addicted…errr, tech-infatuated, family! we are on-the-go daily and use our phones and ipods for taking pics of what we’re doing, sharing with family, using the gps and the calendar. we’re always running down the battery. we could probably carry fewer items with us if we could just charge one of them while we’re out.

With a house of 3 cell phones and 5 tablets and power that is always going out in the summer and it never fails someone’s tablet dies or coming home from work where we can not charge the phones so only having a 22% battery life for hours where i need to contact the light company to see how much longer this is a much need
