Jewelry. That is one word that makes my heart jump! My mother was quite the jewelry aficionado – she had gorgeous pieces from all over the world. I remember when we traveled to Europe the year I graduated high school, she had to stop in every jewelry store she saw. She had impeccable taste, and her very favorite stone was Opal.
My mom passed away a few years ago, and her jewelry was passed onto me. I treasure it dearly and am reminded of her every time I wear one of her pieces. When I am out and about and pass a jewelry store, sometimes I stop and smile when I see a stunning necklace or rings that I know she would have loved.
My husband has started his annual “Sweetheart, please get your list together” routine, and I have begun to look around to see what should go on my holiday list this year. I think I’ve been pretty darned good, so I think jewelry is in order {insert big smiley face here!}. Although I love silver jewelry, I am craving gold jewelry this year – perhaps with a diamond, or maybe with my birthstone.

Jewelry is only one factor which spins the world around. We also need to factor love, family, experience, nature and ofcourse the ones that give us as gifts jewelry.

I am so lucky that my hubby has such wonderful taste in jewelry and knows that I love it so has given me some fabulous pieces over the years. I think that with with economy this year, it will have to be costume jewelry this year. 🙂
