Kwik Stix
Like most kids, my youngest two kids love doing crafts. They have their own favorite types of crafts but there’s usually only one thing that worries me about them doing crafts…the mess that I usually have to clean up after the fun is done. Whether it’s paint, glitter, little pieces of paper that were cut or just simply cleaning up a ton of craft supplies, it always seems like it’s left to me. I love being able to find ways for my kids to be creative but cleaning up a huge mess after it’s all said & done, just isn’t fun!
That’s why I’m thrilled to have found out about Kwik Stix (from The Pencil Grip, Inc.) Kwik Stix are solid tempera paint sticks that are easy for kids to use AND they dry in about 90 seconds. I love that my kids can paint and be completely creative but I don’t have to pull out cups of water, find the paint brushes, make sure that they’re wearing older clothes so paint doesn’t get all over them and there’s NO MORE MESS! All we have to do now is pull out the container of Kwik Stix, some paper and let their imaginations run wild!
Kwik Stix are also AP certified, which means that they are non-toxic and safe for young kids! You can use them on paper, wood, canvas, cardboard, and many other crafting mediums. We’ve been using them on paper but can’t wait to try them on other things too.
My sons (17 & 8) and my daughter (13) were skeptical when I told them that we were all going to paint and check out Kwik Stix. They couldn’t believe that they could paint and have it be dried in under 2 minutes. They kept painting different things, waiting about 90 seconds and touching their painting to see if it was dry or not. We kept hearing “Wow, that’s really cool!”
I love that there are so many different colors to choose from. Kwik Stix come in traditional colors (a 6 pack or a 12 pack), a 6 pack of neon colors, a 6 pack of Metalix colors and a 24 pack (12 assorted colors, 6 neon colors and, 6 metalix colors). I love that they are a great price too! For example, the 6 pack of Kwik Stix are $5.99 and the 12 packs are $11.99! If you’re a teacher, you’ll love the 96 piece class pack for $86.40!
Want to try Kwik Stix for yourself? You can order them on their website and you can also find them at Target.
