One of the things I enjoy most about my girls is their incredible imaginations. They love playing make-believe and acting out their own versions of their favorite movies and television shows. Of course, it is necessary for them to have the proper outfits when playing! That is why they have a closet full of dress-ups and costumes so they can be superheroes, doctors, pirates, and of course, princesses.
As with anything that I buy for my girls, I want dress-ups and costumes that will not cost too much but that will also last through a lot of play, wear, and tear. Most of the ones we have now are ripped in some way, usually from getting snagged on something or being pulled too hard when my girls try to take them off. Even if I have not spent much on a costume, it still bothers me if it starts falling apart right away. So when I heard about
Little Adventures and its line of quality and affordable dress-ups and costumes, I was really excited to give them a try!
Little Adventures dress-ups and costumes are made with quality fabrics that are designed to be durable and snag-resistant. They are also made to be comfortable, with stretchy, soft fabrics and finished seams and hems so they are not scratchy against children’s skin. And the best part is that the selection offered by Little Adventures is unbelievable – dress-ups and costumes for girls, boys, and even adults! There are simple and deluxe dresses for beloved fairy tale princess (like Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Sleeping Beauty), cloaks, superhero capes and masks, accessories (shoes, crowns, gloves, jewelry, swords, and shields), tutus, and even doll clothes!
We chose the
Yellow Beauty Dress because my daughters have been obsessed with Beauty lately with the new movie coming out. The dress is gorgeous – I love the soft yellow color with the stretchy velvet bodice for easy on and off, and all of the beautiful details like the gold flower design on the overskirt, gold trim, and red roses on the collar and skirt. I could barely get my youngest daughter to wait long enough for me to take a picture of the dress before she was pulling off her regular clothes and putting it on, dancing around like she was at a ball. And I’m not exaggerating when I say that she wears the dress all.the.time. The moment she gets home from school, she changes into the dress and wears it until it is time to get ready for bed – to play, to eat dinner, inside and outside, even to the store. I think she would probably sleep in it too if we let her! Which brings me to another great thing about Little Adventures – all of the dress-ups and costumes are washable! That is important to me because I have had problems washing other costumes without them ripping or falling apart. For something that is worn so often, I want to be able to wash it frequently and still have it looking like new.
We also received the
Princess Cloak – Red, which was perfect by itself or over the Yellow Beauty Dress. The velvet fabric is so soft, and it has a cute little bow on the velcro tabs that keep the cloak shut. My youngest daughter likes to pretend she is “Little Red Hi Hood” (as she says Little Red Riding Hood), but how could she do that before now if she did not have the right cloak? Now all she needs is a little basket and she is ready to head through the woods to grandmother’s house!
As I mentioned above, the Little Adventures dress-ups and costumes are very affordable! The Yellow Beauty Dress sells for $29.99, and the Princess Cloak – Red sells for $19.99, with free standard shipping in the U.S. For the next thirty days, you can get 15% off your order with the promo code
