Little Giant XTreme Ladder

A ladder is a ladder, right?  That’s what I always thought until I received the Little Giant Xtreme Ladder Model 17 for review.  Typically I don’t get excited about “guy” stuff such as ladders and tools, but I have to admit that this product is something I will be talking about for a long time and I will probably show it off to anyone who comes over to my house.  Will they think I’m crazy? Sure.  Will they want one too?  Uh yes!

little giant xtreme ladder

To store several ladders for different needs just seems silly after trying the Little Giant Xtreme Ladder.  Why take up precious room in the garage (we have very little), when there is one product that can do the job of several other products?  This multi-use, extending ladder is something every household should have.

We decided to take the ladder for a test run when my husband put up our Christmas lights.  Our house is a two-story, and we usually only hang lights on the bottom part.  My husband first read the directions, which is probably a good idea.  There are so many ways this ladder can be used, it would be easy to miss a few if you don’t look at the directions.  Well, that and there are a few safety tips as well

Unpacking the ladder was a breeze.

While my husband was hanging lights, I asked him his thoughts. He said it was extremely sturdy, and well-built. He was impressed so far! After he used it a few more ways (heights, etc.), he mentioned that he loved the versatility. If you have uneven surfaces, or different levels, you can set one end of the ladder on one surface, and the other end on a higher or lower surface…feeling safe and secure the whole time. This will be very handy if you have some tricky stairs to work on, or graduated surfaces.  Painting stairwells and/or vaulted ceilings will no longer be something to dread.

Need to move the ladder? There is no need to worry, really, as there are wheels on the bottom, so you can simply roll it to its next destination. I love this!

Versatile and easy to use in multiple positions and heights, the Little Giant Xtreme easily converts to a stable, wide-flared extension ladder, a multiple-height A-frame stepladder, a 90-degree ladder, a staircase ladder, and a time-saving trestle-and-plank scaffolding system. New features inclufe the Comfort Step™, AirDeck™ workstation, user-friendly Rock Locks™, and the stronger, safer Quad-Lock™ hinges.

Another REALLY helpful feature of the Little Giant Xtreme Ladder is the . There is also a safety rail, that offers a little extra support when you are reaching really high, or are at the top of the ladder. There is a comfort step towards the top of the ladder too, which is wonderful! It is wider than the rest of the steps. Speaking of wider steps, the rungs on this ladder are wider than on regular ladders, which makes going up and down fast and safe. Some ladders are so narrow that you feel like you could slip at any time. We both agreed that the wider rungs definitely add to the security factor.

And yet another feature my hubby really loved was the Air Deck! Now this is a great idea. You know when you are at the top of the ladder and realize you forgot something? Going up and down a ladder constantly is no fun, especially when you just want to get the job done. Granted, some ladders have a flat surface that you can set a few things on, but they often topple off. The Air Deck has a place for everything. There is a hole for a hammer or other tool (see my husband’s hammer in the picture above?).  There is a magnetic tool tray for screws and nails, so they don’t fall off.  Oh and get this…there is a cup holder!  If  you are working up a thirst, you don’t have to come all the way down for a drink. I think wives will appreciate this especially…they won’t hear the, “honey, can you please bring me something to drink?”.  🙂

Our Redwood Tree is in need of trimming, as you can see in the picture below, and since the Little Giant Xtreme Ladder can be adjusted to different heights, this daunting task will be made much easier this time around.

If all of the above isn’t enough to impress, let me tell you about what else the Little Giant Xtreme can be used for!  It can be readjusted to make a single tall ladder (15 ft.), a scaffold, or even a saw horse!  Now we can get rid of the bulky sawhorses my husband has in the garage (and believe me, we need every inch of space we can get in our garage!).

I highly encourage you to watch the Little Giant Xtreme demonstration video – I think you will be fascinated!

The Little Giant Xtreme Ladder will make an EXCELLENT holiday gift for just about anyone. It is perfect for contractors, painters, landscapers, window cleaners, decorators, and most definitely a must-have for those DIY projects! The Little Giant Xtreme Ladder Model 17 can be purchased online for $359.80, but you can also break it into four payments if you want!

  6. I’d love to win this ladder for ME! I have a habit of leaving my extension ladder leaning against the house whether I’m using it or not. Well, apparently someone decided that they needed it more than I do because it disappeared from my yard while I was away from home 🙁 Probably the same guy who stole my lawn mower.
My gutters really need to be cleaned, and I doubt that my 8′ stepladder will be high enough and stable enough for me to do that.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  151. Its for me I could get rid of my old ladder that is ready to fall apart and I would be able to get to some of those projects I could not reach and feel safe

    Thanks

  152. I’d love to win this for my husband. We don’t have a ladder for around the house and sometimes a step stool just doesn’t cut it!

  153. I’d love to win this for myself and eventually leave it to the maintenance person of my apartment building once I vacate for another city/state.

  154. My hubby would be who I wanted to win this fro. He has to borrow a ladder form a friend whenever we want something done he would love to have his own

  155. I’d love to win this for me, it would help dusting up in our loft alot easier nupa123atgmaildotcom

  156. I would love to win this for my stepmom. She’s an interior designer and could use a ladder this versatile! I follow on FB too!

  157. For my Honey/Hubby (and by extension, ME!) Yikes – we probably have more than a half dozen different in door ladders and another 4-5 REALLY tall ones for outdoors. There of the indoor (all varying heights) ladders primary purposes are changing lightbulbs and batteries in smoke detectors – and YET – they take up so much space – we have to donate a whole storage closet just for them! Two of them often NEVER get put away at all… HELP.

Winning this ladder would be a true godsend / life-saver (not to mention space saver!!!) It’s the kind of item that would be so helpful to have – but can’t compete with the other more URGENT and immediate needs on our wish list. Thanks for the great giveaway(S)!

  158. I would love to win this for my husband David, I would also love for him to paint the family room.

  159. I would really like to win this ladder because I could then return my brother-in-laws LIttleGiant after 2 years of borrowing it. Thanks Little Giant.

  160. I would love to win this for my husband because he is always doing something on the house, whether it’s cleaning gutters or washing windows.

  161. I would love to win this ladder for us. We could really use this. This is one ladder that would help with every job around our home, including cleaning out the gutters.

  162. I would love to give this my husband because the last ladder we had magically became his brother’s (got borrowed and never returned)

  163. I would love this for my husband. We live on a ranch so there is always something that he needs a ladder for-this would be perfect.

  164. I would like to win this for my wife. We have one of the original Little Giant ladders and it has been great; however, it seems every time my wife is using the ladder she is balancing on the top rung. I am always worried she will fall off. The safety rail and air deck are great ideas and should make it much safer for her.

  165. It would be great to win this for my husband. He’s not always the handiest around the house and I know he has seen these in the stores and said he would love to have one. Thanks.

  166. This would be for my husband..i don’t think we have a ladder so it’d be great to have one so we can fix the roof

  167. Thanks for the giveaway…we would like this for the many DIY projects we have around the house !
