I got my mom one of those surprise cards where it looks like a box and bursts open with confetti, tiny scraps of paper for her to clean up, and seemingly live bugs flying at her face. The LovePop Story

 

LovePop first greeted America as contestants on ABC’s “Shark Tank” in 2015, but their story does not begin there.

 

 

It all started when friends, Wobi Rose and John Wise (ship designers) went on a school business trip to Vietnam. There, they saw a vendor selling 3D paper artwork on the street in Ho Chi Minh City. 

 

They thought the construction was really cool and launched LovePop when they returned home from the life changing trip. 

 

 

Rose and Wise saved up and put everything they had into launching their business. Then came Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary with an offer they didn’t refuse. ‘Mr. Wonderful’ put up $300,000 to help move LovePop forward. 

 

 

The publicity was an enormous help, catapulting the business from $300,000 in sales to $18M in sales. Maybe I should ask Mr. Wonderful to invest in this blog!

 

LovePop Pushing The Envelope

 

The company faced harrowing times during the 2020 pandemic when all 10 locations closed down at the time. Employees suffered and even brand ambassadors were in jeopardy of losing their revenue. (I’m not one of them).

It seemed like it would be the end until one product turned things around in a matter of days.

 

 

The paper bouquet went from concept to selling 10,000 units in less than 2 weeks! The words “Thinking of You” appeared on the 3D bouquet. Something as simple as this was just what most of us needed as a pick me up during the most isolating time in recent history. Not to mention fresh flowers were extremely scarce due to supply chain issues and other factors. 

 

LovePop also manufactured more than 20,000 face shields and nearly half a million isolation gowns by summer 2020.

 

LovePop was back in business!

 

Why LovePop is so Poppin’

 

Customer service for many internet companies is almost non-existent, so I was pleased to read so many great reviews on the company even when things didn’t go as planned. LovePop stands by their product and takes care of their customers. 

 

You may also be asking, how long  do LovePop cards take to ship? I placed my order through the website and in less than 7 days it had arrived at my door. 

 

The envelope was sturdy with large printed text in red that said, “Please treat with love” “DO NOT BEND”. The packaging was very smart and kept the cards in pristine condition. 

 

Each card was individually wrapped in a plastic sleeve so that if anything got wet, the cards had an excellent chance of surviving.

 

You’d be surprised how many times a shipping carrier left packages 5 feet from my door, on the ground, in the torrential rain. 

I appreciate LovePop for thinking of everything. They also have excellent customer service.
