Sipping For A Cause – Mionetto Cocktails For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 30, 2017 by Tammy Litke 1 Comment

Mionetto knows that breast cancer doesn’t limit itself to October and neither does the need for funding research.  When they asked for my help to spread the word about their Pink Cork For The Cause, I had a personal interest in doing just that.

You see in early 2015 after having a second mammogram done, I got a dreaded phone call.  “The radiologist got your films from your base line in, and they’d like to do some more screenings.”   After doing a basic film, the radiologist looked at it and then wanted a 3D image, and then a sonogram.  By this time, I’m nervous…very, very nervous.  With excellent bedside manner, it was explained that my tissue has changed.  It’s not a mass…yet.  And it could very well never become one…or it could.  So for now, we watch and wait.   But other women don’t get that same relief of reprieve as I did.  Every two minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. One in every eight women in the United States will be affected by this disease in her lifetime.

Pink Cork For The Cause is Mionetto‘s  innovative charitable program that aims to drive awareness and support research surrounding Breast Cancer Awareness. After making $70,000 in donations to charities committed to fighting breast cancer and supporting survivors and their families, Mionetto is proud to continue the fight for a third year in 2017.  Through the end of November pink corks can be found in some bottles of Mionetto Prestige Prosecco Brut (SRP $14) and Mionetto Prestige Rosé (SRP $14), and those lucky enough to find one will win* a pink 5-speed hand mixer and be entered for the chance to win a $10,000 charitable donation by Mionetto, made to the breast cancer charity of the winner’s choice.   How fantastic is that?!

Not only will you be spreading awareness with your purchase, they’ve also got some fun (and delicious) pink cocktails, created by master mixologist Justin Noel, for your bottle as well.
