About the book – Monday is One Day (by Adam A. Levine): One by one, the days of the week roll by. Monday is one day, Tuesday is blue shoes day, and Wednesday is halfway day.
With monster roars and splashy puddles, with crazy ties and hugs, kids and parents count the perfect small moments of their weekday time together, looking forward to the weekend, when the days will be all theirs.
As a full time working mom, I really related to Monday Is One Day. I often feel like I’m always promising “Tomorrow…., on the weekend….” when really I should be remembering the small things we do every day that make each day special. The first line of the book “The hardest part of going to work is being apart from you” speaks volumes. Even if you love your job, leaving your child at home is so very hard!
The illustrations in Monday Is One Day are bright and inviting. I really love the way that different types of families are used throughout the book so that every child can find someone in the book that looks like them.
Evan enjoyed Monday Is One Day. His only complaint….”It’s too short!”….which is one of those complaints that are really a compliment.
