My mouth started watering when I pulled out each box and read the label. We will be eating well for days to come, and dinner time will definitely be something to look forward to as long as our freezer is stocked with tasty meat from Omaha Steaks.

The first weekend after we received the Thrill Your Grill Combo pack, our kids happened to be gone. My husband and I decided to have a special dinner – all to ourselves. We decided to grill the filet mignons, and for a side dish we chose the stuffed baked potatoes. You can use a compact electric grill for it. We also had fresh garlic butter grilled corn on the cob to complete our meal – this is our very own creation 🙂

As I removed the filets from their sealed plastic pouches, I admired how lean they were. There was no fat to be found – it was perfect trimmed. The color was beautiful, and I couldn’t wait to taste them. I spread a little garlic butter (that I used on the corn) on each filet. I had a feeling that no additional spices or seasonings were needed on these filets, and I wanted the flavor to really come through.

I cooked the double stuffed potatoes as directed and not-so-patiently waited for our dinner to finish cooking.  When my husband announced that the filets were done, I checked on the potatoes and corn, and everything was ready at the same time. How is that for timing?  As I plated our steaks, I noticed the amazing aroma. When I took my first bite, my taste buds were doing a happy dance.  My husband and I looked at each other and said, “Now THIS is excellent quality”. These were the most tender filets I have ever had. The flavor was so good, and I was right, they really didn’t need any seasoning.

The double stuffed baked potatoes were surprisingly tasty.  I have had so many different varieties of frozen stuffed potatoes before, but they are usually bland.  I am always hesitant to try again, because I fear being disappointed.  I can honestly say that these are a very close second to my own double stuffed potatoes (and mine are excellent, if I do say so myself!).  The flavor carried on throughout the whole potato – not just on top where the seasonings were. I have a feeling I will be ordering more of these, along with more filets.

We will be enjoying the rest of the goodies from Omaha Steaks this weekend.  The kids will be home this weekend, so I guess we will have to share.  I’m not a horrible person, really.  I am excited to taste the burgers, and am curious about their pork chops and chicken.  I can’t wait!

  52. There’s so many yummy items to choose from it was hard to decide but I would have to say the, “Pork Tenderloin Dinner” because it would be a nice dinner for the family. I would order the “BBQ Pulled Pork” for myself! 🙂

I would LoVe to try their 6 ounce Ribeyes steak, I love Ribeye and will choose it when we go out for a steak dinner, the only problem I have is that I prefer mine very, very well done, no pink for me and the waiter will usually try to talk me out of it but I love it that way and these Ribeyes look amazing and juicy

  242. I’ve always been curious about the Gourmet Franks since all I’ve really ever had are the $1/pack Oscar Meijer or Armour variety… but seriously, how much better could a $5/single hotdog be? I’d like to find out sometime (without spending that $5 if possible).
