The Other F Word for those of us who are “older”

The Other F Word

Now that I am over forty, I have come to realize that this age – through maybe 55 is kind of an “in limbo” period of time. It is not that it is bad by any means, but just that sometimes other people don’t give us a second thought, or think can contribute what younger folks can. I find this to be true as a blogger, when many campaigns want ages under 50. I think to myself, “Why can’t I participate?”. It is really frustrating when the campaign has nothing to do with small children (my own are grown). But I digress. Enough somber – I want to tell you about something fun…something humorous and relatable, especially for those over 40.  The Other F Word.

“The Other ‘F’ Word” is funny, quirky and all too familiar. I love the cast, and really get caught up in their shenanigans.

The Other F Word,” a dramatic comedy series by award-winning filmmaker Caytha Jentis, is available free on Amazon. The riveting new series whose cast includes names such as: Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy), Michael Boatman (The Good Wife), Reiko Aylesworth (24), Judy Gold (Jim Gaffigan Show) and Ben Bailey (Cash Cab), addresses issues like ageism, sexism, re-entering the workforce, sexuality for women 40+, dating after divorce/widowhood and more. At its heart, the series is about friendship and finding oneself after the kids are grown – an adult coming of age in mid-life.

I like this series because sometimes I feel that those of us over 40 kind of get left out, or forgotten about. Our age is something to celebrate, and each year that goes by, we gain more experience. But being over forty definitely doesn’t mean that life will be boring from here on out. Just the opposite in fact! I am enjoying life to its fullest and having lots of fun. What most people do not realize or think about, we will one day be that age and you will be treated the same way. You are valuable and can contribute.

Sounds good, I will have to check out on amazon. I know I kind of feel left out at times because I’m in this middle age and I don’t have kids.
