Righteously Raw Chocolates Review

My family loves chocolate. While doing some reading about raw chocolate recently I was introduced to Righteously Raw. Intrigued, I reached out to them and was so happy to hear they would be sending us some items to review! [*]

So happy, in fact, I broke my no chocolate rule to taste them. I could not resist after all the praise I’ve heard from other Paleo eaters! Not only are these chocolates raw, they are organic and the truffles are coupled with superfoods. Best of all, the ingredient list is so simple!

Let’s go over the certifications and general deets:

  • Kosher
  • Organic/Non GMO
  • Wheat and Gluten Free
  • Vegan
  • Made in a dedicated allergen, nut, and soy free environment
  • Contains not a spec of refined sugar
  • raw chocolates

We received several items from Righteously Raw to taste. First, Luv and I dug into the Raw Coconut Macaroons.

    raw chocolates

Organic coconut has been a staple in my diet for the past few months so these macaroons were a delicious treat! They feature raw organic sun-dried coconut covered in the raw and organic cocao. My sweet tooth was satisfied and it successfully silenced my late night hunger pang. I thoroughly enjoyed these macaroons! A guilt-free treat that also fueled my body.

I liked them and I think they are tasty. I liked the inside the best. It was really, really tasty. I want more of them.

We also enjoyed a few varieties of the Righteously Raw cocao bars. Amazingly, these do not pass 35 on the glycemic scale. They are naturally low glycemic which I appreciate since I cut my sugar intake dramatically. I didn’t feel that sugar crash that followed after eating “sweets” months ago. Using ingredients that are naturally sweet does wonders!

    Goji:

90% raw cocoa envelops Goji berries, Turkish figs, and golden Hunza raisins. Goji berries are famous for their believed benefits in traditional Chinese medicine; like boosting the immune system, protecting the liver, aiding circulation, and providing energy. This fruit filling blend is delicious, savory, and contains 8 essential amino acids, and a plethora of trace minerals.

    Chocolate:

This bar features the nutty flavor of the Maca root which covers a dark Ecuadorian chocolate fudge truffle. Maca root is a superfood hailing from the Andes. Maca contains over 55 phytonutrients and is said to help balance hormones {and improve libido} and boost energy levels. The pairing of Maca root with raw cocao butter and the sweetness of dates and raisins makes for a wonderful flavor.

    raw chocolates

    Lúcuma Caramel:

My favorite of the bunch. 90% raw cocao blankets a smooth low-glycemic “caramel” made of dates and a subtropical Peruvian fruit named lúcuma. It is rich in beta-carotene as well.

I definitely feel like my appreciation for chocolate had a wake up call. I think Righteously Raw is for a pure cocao aficionado’s palate. I has no idea chocolate could be so refined and delicious!

    Buy:

Look for Righteously Raw at your local natural foods market! I’ve spotted them at Whole Foods, PCC Markets, and our local co-op. Prices range from $5.49-$8.49.
