Sing4: The Hits Edition for Wii

Our family enjoys singing and dancing very much. The girls love the top 40 stuff on the radio and I am ok with that. We bop along in the car singing together quite often. I, like them, many times get the words horribly wrong but it is waaayyy more fun to listen to what they come up with. I received a Sing 4 to review and boy did we have some fun! It has all the cool songs that they love and even the words (for me lol).

Sing4: The Hits Edition is a unique singing game unlike any other. This is the first game with high-precision lyrics scoring that detects humming vs. singing, and includes cool effects like pitch correction to enhance your voice with. Sing4 is sure to be a fun game for the whole family, allowing up to 4 players to sing simultaneously. There are 40 popular original artist’s tracks and music videos to rock out to, and even more songs available for download. You can also record and replay your performance during several Game Modes including Solo, Co-op, Duet and Battle, where you go head to head against your friends. So grab a mic, your friends, and get ready for a completely new and innovative karaoke experience with Sing4!

We set it up and played for quite a long time. The girls mostly enjoyed Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus because they know those songs. However Taio Cruz and Train were also up there as their favorites. Now hubs didn’t get to join in with the song party we were having so we are going to pull this out on Christmas day when we stay home and enjoy each other. I am very happy that this is now an option for us on our family game night. It is fun and very entertaining. Sing4 would be a perfect gift to a family that loves music!

Features:
High-precision lyrics: Scoring that detects humming vs. singing.
Voice effects: This fun addition allows you to alter your voice and change the way it sounds! Choose from Echo, Reverb, Helium, Ogre, and Wobble. Use the effects during a song or experiment with them in the replay.
Pitch Correction: Automatically “tune” your voice! This effect adjusts the players’ voice to match the pitch and vocals of the song, but the timing is still left to the player. Pitch correction can be used independently, or in conjunction with any other voice effect.
4 different game modes:
Solo: Do your best to get the song right! You are scored based on your pitch and timing. Adjust the difficulty level so that anyone from novices to pros can sing like a star!
Duet: This mode breaks up songs for 2 people to sing together! Pay attention to which part is yours. The player with the highest score wins.
Battle: Up to 4 players can sing together in this mode! Each player sings the same parts and the player with the highest score wins.
Cooperation: Get help from your friends in this mode. Some parts you might be better at than your friends and vice versa, so your scores are combined in this mode!

There is a special Sing4 YouTube Contest that concludes January 31, 2012. One grand prize winner will be selected to perform as the Opening Act at the Songwriters Music Series: Chicago edition to benefit VH1 Save The Music Foundation in 2012 plus win $10,000 in cash & prizes. Contestants can choose from four featured Sing4 contest songs by Rihanna, Train, Carrie Underwood and Daughtry. After selecting one of the four songs, contestants will videotape themselves performing it, post their performance by logging on to www.youtube.com/sing4 and uploading their video. Famous YouTube artists are already getting involved. Videos will be judged on originality, talent and creativity.

Sing4: Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town for Wii

Are you still looking for a stocking stuffer? I have the perfect one for the young gamer in your life! Our family received the Wii game Santa Claus is Coming to Town to review and not only did my girls love it but we also invited a little 7 year old boy I know to give it a whirl. Everyone knows the story and the game makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the story playing along.

As Kris Kringle you will carry out your mission of delivering toys to the kids in Sombertown, overcoming challenges in platform-based levels. While Christmas has 12 days, the game more than doubles that, giving you 25 levels of Christmas cheer to explore. You can share the adventure with a friend (playing as Topper the penguin) in two-player Story Mode. Surprises (more presents!) await throughout the game in stockings you can discover to unlock bonus content.

My 6 year old got it but the 4 year old struggled a bit. She really just needs a little more practice though. After he was done playing I asked the 7 year old what he thought and he told me he liked it. The games that he normally plays are much more advanced and I wondered if he would be bored but the story is such a classic and the animation so much like the movie he told me he enjoyed it very much. It will most definitely be played over and over again at our home and not just around Christmas time. Rated E for Everyone Santa Claus is Coming to Town is family friendly fun for the Wii playing family!
