As if there weren’t enough reasons to love Smart & Final, they have now introduced their exclusive First Street Brand of Cheeses!  I was thrilled when I found out I would be reviewing the yummy First Street cheeses.

About First Street:

First Street is the flagship brand for Smart & Final with products that are national brand equivalent reaching across most categories throughout the store. From grocery, packaging and cleaning products, to frozen, deli and dairy products, competitive prices on these quality-drive items make the First Street brand an exceptional value.

For my review I received Provolone slices, Mexican shredded blend and Colby Jack.  All were incredibly tasty – we have sampled them all since they arrived.  We are big cheese lovers around here, so I’m sure they won’t last long.  They all were super flavorful and they go nicely on a variety of dishes.  I definitely think these are worth buying, next time you are at Smart & Final, and I know I will be too!

I have a yummy recipe you might like to try too! Check out this mouthwatering recipe:

Baked Macaroni & Cheese

8 oz. First Street Cheddar Cheese

1 Package of First Street Elbow Macaroni

1 Cup of First Street Milk

Salt and Pepper to taste

2 Slices of First Street  Buttered Bread

Method: Preheat oven to 350 degrees, boil macaroni by instruction.  Cut 4 oz of cheese into chunks, heat in sauce pan with milk, add salt & pepper to taste.  When mixture is yellow, add macaroni and milk mixture to an 8 x 8 baking dish.  Take the rest of your cheese and shred it into mixture in dish.  Cut your 2 slices of buttered bread into small pieces and place on top of macaroni.  Place in oven until bread crumbs are golden brown about 15 minutes.

Yummy!  I think I am going to try this recipe this weekend – I just know my family will love it!

Smart & Final will be promoting it’s First Street Cheeses this holiday season. October 6th – 12th: Chunk Cheese, 2 lb., October 13th – 19th: Swiss or Provolone Sliced Cheese 1.5 lb, October 20th – 26th: Cubed Cheese 2.5 lb and October 27th – November 2nd: Shredded Cheese 2 lb.

  1. I started noticing this brand in other surprisingly good food items like their frozen hamburger patties. I also think it was strawberry preserves that I’ve had from this brand that I thought was very good, better than the majority of the brands on the store shelves.

  2. Where are First Street cheeses made? The package says they are distributed by Amerifoods Trading Company in Los Angeles, but where are the cheeses actually made?

    1. You may be able to find the answer on their social media accounts. Try to reach out and let us know what you find. Thanks for commenting!
