When I was younger, our house telephone was in the hallway right outside my bedroom (this was way before cell phones and even cordless phones). My brother and sister, in their never-ending quest to annoy me, thought it would be funny to use my bedroom as their own personal telephone booth. They would go into my room, close the door, and talk for hours on the phone. Despite all of my efforts to keep them out (hanging big “Do Not Enter” signs on my door, tattling to my parents, and just acting like a big pain in the butt when they were on the phone), nothing worked.

I like that kids can set their own 3-digit secret access code, choose a sound effect to play when someone rings the doorbell button on the device, record messages to play when the door is opened, set a secret knock or an alarm, and program three key cards for those who they wish to allow access to their rooms.

This would not deter my 3yr old son from getting into his 12 year old sisters’ room. The girls (they are triplets) couldn’t keep him out if they tried. But put something electronic on the door and you might as well invite him in. He’s a tech lover lol.
