Squishable Owl

About a week ago, my 14 year old daughter came running downstairs and told me to go to a certain website. You see, she is making her Christmas list, and she found a site with products she absolutely loves. I pulled up the Squishable website, per her request and she squealed and pointed out several that she would love to have.

I have to admit that I too, I am quite smitten with all of the furry critters at Squishable. By now you might be wondering what on earth is a Squishable? I could say that they are stuffed animals, but they are so much more than that. Yes, they are stuffed, and yes, they are animals, but they are incredibly cute and well….squishy! They are also pretty large (about 15″) – just the right size for hugging and/or sleeping with.

I asked my daughter which was her favorite and she had a hard time picking just one. The Platypus ($38 ARV) is what she finally decided as her final choice. When it arrived, I opened the box to discover a large, cuddly, adorable platypus! Oh my goodness, they really are something. I think I might even need one of my own. She was extremely excited when it arrived {we both were!}, and she immediately started squeezing him.

Yes, Platypuses are ridiculous-looking with their beaver tails, duck-bills, and webbed feet. But just think how you must look to them, you hairless bipedal! Let’s see you swim along a river bottom for twelve hours a day. Or lay eggs even though you’re a mammal. Or inject venom into your victims from spurs in the backs of your ankles. That’s right, ’cause you can’t! Only a cute, cuddly …ridiculous-looking platypus can do that.

The quality is outstanding – very durable. The detail is pretty amazing too – that is what makes these so special. Their features are so darned irresistible.  They even have a few that are made out of recycled plastic bottles – what a great idea!

It is apparent to me how much everyone loves Squishables. There is a fan area on the website, where people post their pictures – it’s pretty fun to look at. I have a feeling that Squishables are going to be (if they are not already), one of the hottest gift items this season, and probably well into the next few years. Once you acquire one, it will be hard to stop! These are perfect for kids and adults alike {and even teens, as proven by my daughter!} How fun it would be for a collector of a certain animal to receive one of these?

  164. So cuuuute! My mom bought me one of these for Christmas last year, and I must say, they are absolutely amazing. 22 years old and I snuggle up with my fluffy sheep squishable! I have a neice that would absolutely adore one of these critters. The panda and the narwhal so too sweet.

  238. I have been looking and wanting a Squishable since last Christmas. The reason I have not gotten one yet is because I could not make my mind up between the Squishable Whale and the Squishable Shark which are my absolute favorites (but I love them all, and who wouldn’t love them all?). Then I realized that I did not have to pick between the two, I could get one of each! I finally went to order them only to find out that they both are out of stock tell February!

I wanted to get the chicken one but its out of stock for now, but when its back in stock I am so getting one for my self.
