We ordered the Star Wars Luke Skywalker Child costume from Costume SuperCenter. For this review, Malone’s best friend Liam is modeling the costume (Malone got another Star Wars costume for his birthday and decided he wanted to give this one to his friend…. so sweet!). For reference, Liam is 65 pounds and around 54 inches tall. He’s wearing the Luke Skywalker costume in child size medium.
Liam was really happy about this Star Wars Costume, but for this photograph he was being serious about using the force on me!
This costume includes a tunic, belt, and pants with attached boot tops. The light saber is sold separately, as well as a brown wig to complete the look.
We loved the details of this costume, from the boots to the belt, Liam felt like Luke in it. Liam’s mom appreciated that the boots were built into the top of the costume and had an elastic strap to attach the bottom of the costume under shoes or socks.
The costume is made out of thin polyester, which is awesome because layers can put underneath. Halloween is often cold here in New England- there have been some years where we’ve gone trick or treating in parkas! This costume is also sensory friendly- Malone and Liam have a friend who is very particular about the way clothing feels against his body. This Star Wars costume would have worked well for him too, again because you can layer your own clothing beneath it.
The costume runs a little big. Liam matched up perfectly with the size guidelines, but has plenty of room to grow into. My recommendation would be to size down if you want it to fit right now. Liam will likely get at least another full year out imaginary play and Halloween fun out of this one (total win, if you ask me).
