There is a fun new day camp coming to the S.F. Bay Area – Camp Imagineerz! What is Camp Imagineerz, you might ask?

Founded in 2011 by Bay Area parent Vaibhavi Gala, Camp Imagineerz is a summer day camp for children entering 1st through 4th grades. By creating a fun environment, Camp Imagineerz helps children discover than with an “I-Can” attitude, they can achieve anything they set their mind to. Our camp utilizes a new method that provides guided learning fueled by the kids’ imaginations and creativity.

This place almost makes me wish I were a kid again (or that my own kids were little again so they could join in the fun!). At Camp Imagineerz, you will find activities such as creating and performing original stories, building/making with recycled materials, and lots of outdoor play and fun.

I love how they emphasize on the “i-can” – children definitely need to know they can do anything they set their minds to. Camp Imagineerz focuses on helping children learn not to fear failure. To persist in the face of roadblocks and to keep trying until they succeed.

As one of their 6-year old campers said, “I know I can do it because i-imagine, i-can, i-do”. How neat is that?

The 2nd year of Camp Imagineerz will feature six weeks of camp in two locations for local children 1st through 4th grade.

After browsing their website, I am more and more convinced that this would be the perfect way to spend part of the summer (while giving parents a much needed break). Other activities include designing an amusement park, in which the kids play carnival games, navigate a haunted maze and make popcorn balls. Now THAT sounds fun! Want even more fun? How about Arctic Adventures and Around the World in a Hot Air Balloon?
