Switchcrafted This Halloween Trade The Bag of Candy for a Toy!

Every Halloween the amount of candy that my daughter receives is ridiculous.  To make it worse, she’s a candy hoarder.  Last spring after a massive room clean, I found some of that candy.  This year, I’m introducing Switchcrafted:  The Story of the Switch Witches of Halloween!

The story starts with the ever burning question “Why are witches part of Halloween?”, a question children everywhere are bursting to find out!

In the mysterious world of cauldron bubbles, flying broomsticks and black cats, witches cast their spells turning nobles into beasts, straw into gold and magic lamps into wish-giving genies.  Staying up late and flying a broomstick to conduct all of these tasks requires lots and lots of energy.  And for witches, energy only comes from candy –and kind of candy to be precise!  But the one spell that no witch can ever cast is the candy spell!

A ha!  That’s it!  Witches!

Included with the storybook is a Switch Witch of your very own.  Switch Witches hold very special powers…when invited into the home and children are on their best behavior for the month of October (although good behavior is certainly encouraged year round!) the Switch Witches will take the gobs of candy in exchange for a new toy!

Sounds like a great trade off to me!  I think this book is adorable!  I’ve placed Glinda on the shelf in our living room, and there she will stay closely monitoring Paige’s witchy behavior.  We will see if she leaves a toy on November 1st.  It’s a win-win in my book – Paige feels like she needs to check her behavior and I don’t have to worry about all of the candy and where I’ll find it over the next six months!
