Check Out The World of Eric Carle

December 15, 2015 by Angela 102 Comments

Disclosure review
EMPHM Holiday GG
I never heard of Eric Carle until after I had children.  One of my daughters received an Eric Carle book as a birthday gift this past year (The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse), and I thought it was really cute, with beautiful illustrations in bright colors.  I also have friends who are really into everything Eric Carle-related, and through them, I have been introduced to The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, and more!

logo
The World of Eric Carle™ line of fun and educational toys, plush animals, games, puzzles, and clothing brings the beloved Eric Carle characters out of their books and to life.  The World of Eric Carle™ has issued a great 2015 holiday gift guide, full of many wonderful gifts for babies, toddlers, and children.  I was very excited to look through the gift guide and pick out some items that I thought my girls would enjoy.  I chose the Brown Bear 2-Piece PJ Set, The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ 2-Piece PJ Set, The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ Cookbook and Cookie Cutters Kit, and The World of Eric Carle™ ABC Tin Game.

pjcollage
I love picking out cute pajamas for my girls (which doesn’t make much sense considering the fact that no one sees them except for my husband and me), but I also know that they need pajamas that fit well, are comfortable, and are easy to sleep in.  I got the Brown Bear 2-Piece PJ Set for my youngest daughter and The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ 2-Piece PJ Set for my oldest daughter, and both sets fit my criteria for pajamas – cute and comfortable!

girlspj
Both pairs of pajamas come with a long-sleeved shirt with striped sleeves, matching striped pants, cuffs for the arms and legs, and of course, the cute Eric Carle character on the front of the shirt.  They are made of a soft cotton material and are pretty lightweight so I thought they would be more appropriate for late fall or early spring.  However, both of my girls tend to run hot so these pajamas are perfect for them, even on a chilly night, and they do not overheat like they sometimes do in heavier pajamas.  Plus, they both looked so adorable in their pajamas!  I have already had to wash the pajamas several times so they could be worn again and again.

IMG_2152
The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ Cookbook and Cookie Cutters Kit contains 25 recipes and three cookie cutters – the caterpillar, a butterfly, and a circle (for the caterpillar to crawl through).  Most of the recipes are simple recipes that you can make with your children, and include breakfast, lunch, snacks, and yummy treats.  A lot of the recipes incorporate the cookie cutters as well.

cookcollage
We have used the cookie cutters to make fun-shaped sandwiches for my daughters, and our list of holiday baking will definitely include some caterpillar and butterfly sugar cookies.  I would love to make the Caterpillar Cupcakes for my oldest daughter’s next birthday to take along, and I cannot wait to try The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ Fruit Salad and the Bye Bye Butterfly Fruit Centerpiece recipes when summer comes around and we can get fresh fruit.

gamecollage
Finally, I love The World of Eric Carle™ ABC Tin Game, and it was perfect for my oldest daughter.  She is learning all of the letters of the alphabet in school, and what better way to continue that learning at home than with a fun game?  The game comes with cards containing each letter of the alphabet (both uppercase and lowercase).  Each card also has a picture of an item that starts with that letter.  Children spin a wheel and either choose to move the number of spaces spun or to the next big or little letter space.  They then have to find the card that matches the letter on their space.  This great game teaches both letter recognition and counting, all while children are also having fun!

guide
The Brown Bear 2-Piece PJ Set and The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ 2-Piece PJ Set each sell for $14.99, The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ Cookbook and Cookie Cutters Kit sells for $22.99, and The World of Eric Carle™ ABC Tin Game sells for $9.99.  Check out The World of Eric Carle™ 2015 holiday gift guide if you are still looking for a last-minute gift this holiday season or just want to find some adorable items for your children!  The gift guide also tells you where you can buy all of these wonderful items.
