Top 5 Warning Signs that a dog is getting annoyed
Not sure why your pooch is growling at you? If your dog is showing you signs of aggression, they’re annoyed with you. Sure, you don’t speak dog but instead, you need to be aware of the signs and learn how to quell the aggressive behavior your dog is displaying. Here are top signs indicating that your dog might be getting annoyed.
Especially when you’re scolding him/her! You’re right, they shouldn’t have peed on the carpet but maybe, you forgot to feed them dinner or take them out for a walk. If your dog is trained to urinate outside yet is doing so inside the house, your pup is mad.
2. They “smack” you
You’ve probably been smacked before but you didn’t realize it. When you get a big, smelly paw on your leg or on the side of your head, Fido is trying to get you to notice him. There’s something important to communicate and you’re ignoring him. How annoying!
3. They do things they know they shouldn’t
If your dog has been doing things that they know they shouldn’t be doing (such as peeing in the house or eating your shoes) they’re getting their revenge. The dog is telling you that they are upset with you for any variety of reasons.
4. The pooch becomes aggressive
This isn’t so common however, it does happen. Depending on the situation, some dogs, including previously mellow dogs, may become aggressive or feel threatened. If you’re wondering how to stop aggressive behavior, you first need to examine why they’re displaying it. Has anything different happened lately? Has there been a change in their routine? New people in the house? Once you can determine what is upsetting the dog, you can take the preventive measures.
5. They reject gifts
Dogs love gifts! You know he/she loves backpacking with you and they just got the best dog gear for backpacking. And, there’s no reaction! Or worse, you see him/her walking away in disappointment. No one rejects a gift unless they’re really angry – same goes for dogs. If your pooch is upset with you, they may actually reject a gift from you.
