We headed to Oregon to visit our friends that moved there almost a year ago. We have been trying to go on vacation for awhile now, and finally found the time to do it! My husband and daughter have never been to Oregon before, and I had never been to Bend, Oregon. The drive was about 8 hours long, but it was worth it when we pulled up to our friend’s house and were greeted with warm hugs. We settled in and then took a walk around the neighborhood. We were also introduced to their new pups.

Impressive Pilot Butte stands rises nearly 500 feet. It is an inactive Volcano, and there are 360 degree views of just about everywhere:

We took a drive through Sisters, a small town outside of Bend. While we were touring a neighborhood, we saw this deer “chillaxin” on the side of this house.

The scenery is gorgeous here, and I couldn’t resist taking a few shots of some neat things I found, like this berry tree:

We found a beautiful shopping center near Bend, Oregon that the Deschutes river runs behind.

And this miniature horse, we see every day on our way out:

We are heading home tomorrow, which is kind of sad. We have had a really fun time with our amazing hosts. They really are the most wonderful people ever, and it makes us realize how much we miss them.

So glad you’ve enjoyed Bend!
We love it there.. especially Sunriver.. You were only 2.5 hours away!
Awww it would have been fun to see you
Maybe next time? Or hopefully at a blogging event!
Looks like fun!
Thanks for posting the pics! I was born and raised in Oregon and I miss it soooo much!!!!
I’ll bet you do – it is definitely worth missing. How did you end up in Nebraska?
You were in my neck of the woods! Glad you enjoyed our state. I am rather partial to it.
We love going to Sisters for shopping. Did you stop by Sister’s Bakery? A fabulous little hole in the wall of goodness. My DH loves their pinecone doughnuts. A braided cake doughnut with cinnamon inside and frosted with chocolate or maple…. oh, yum!
I am amazed at how many bloggers live in Oregon! I wish I had time to visit you all! We didn’t make it into the Sister’s Bakery, but I really wanted to. We were running short on time finally
It is a beautiful place!
Beautiful pictures. I love the one of your daughter on the wall and a mountain side in the back ground and I’ve said it before but she looks so much like you!
Thank you Joie! Many people call her “Mini Me”, which cracks me up of course lol. I was so excited to get that shot of her! I miss you
That looks like a wonderful break for you! I love the deer in the shade of the house, too cool!
It was fabulous!! Thanks for stopping by!
Sounds like a wonderful vacation and great pics. I just love Oregon! I previously live in Oregon for 12 years. I’ve been to Bend, Oregon several times and it is a very nice place.
Oh, I’m jelous, I’ve always wanted to go to Oregon and Washington state, and the Pacific NW. I don’t know where Bend is in relation to any coast, but it sure looks beautiful, and so does your litlle family.
