I love Spring. I really, really love it. The problem with it though is that right before the beginning of Spring my skin always gets really dry (especially my hands), and it cracks. Ouch, right? This year was no exception, and it was almost unbearable.

I was sent a couple of Aquaphor products for review –  Aquaphor Healing Ointment and Aquaphor Lip Repair.  I had both of the products in the kitchen, and honestly I kind of forgot they were there, until one day my hands were exceptionally sore.  I assumed that Aquaphor was just a lotion (which sounded pretty good!), but as I was reading the tube, it said “healing ointment”.  This may sound silly but I was SO excited, as I was anxious for my hands to feel better.

I was actually on my way out the door for a 3-hour drive to our new home, and I grabbed both products on the way out. Before I left my house, while still sitting in my parked car, I applied the Aquaphor Healing Ointment all over my hands. What a relief! The ointment filled in the cracks and made my hands feel better than they had in a long, long time. I continued to use it over the next few days until my hands were completely healed. The best part is that my hands felt protected while using this. The Aquaphor Healing Ointment seriously could not have arrived at a better time!

I also started using the Aquaphor Lip Repair at the same time.  Amazingly enough my lips weren’t dry like my hands, but I thought it was probably a good idea to protect them before they were uncomfortable as well.  I will definitely be using this in the future at the first sign of chapped lips (oh how I loathe chapped lips!).

Part of the reason Aquaphor products work so well is that they contain Panthenol (a derivative of Vitamin B), which penetrates and conditions the skin. It helps to hydrate the skin while healing.

I hadn’t previously tried Aquaphor  (I have no idea why), although I have seen it in stores and online for years.  It is definitely a name I will remember and their products I will continue to use.

You can purchase Aquaphor products both on and offline, at stores such as CVS, Walgreen’s Target, etc. I think Aquaphor is very reasonably priced for the amazing job they do!

  50. I actually use Aquaphor- and alot of it in the winter! Here in the MidWest with the furnace on it is horrible on the skin. In the summers lip repair to the rescue- it prevent sunburn (yes it gets scorching hot here too)

  177. This stuff is great! I use it for EVERYTHING! my 5 month old son gets aquaphored up everynight after his bath. i have used it as my face moisturiser for years. my elbows, knees, feet, hands. Everyone knows i LOVE my aquaphor. I could use the smaller tube since the HUGE jug is hard to fit in my purse!
