National Johnsonville “No Ordinary Burger”

I have some exciting news to share with you! Johnsonville is having a really fun contest where you can win some fabulous prizes just by entering your burger recipe. But we aren’t talking about hamburgers here, this is something different – Johnsonville Brat and/or Italian Sausage Patties!

Johnsonville is a brand I have always liked. On a side note, if you have not tried their Brown Sugar & Honey breakfast sausage links, you have got to try them! My family adores them, and I think they are the best links ever. But back to the contest –  Johnsonville’s No Ordinary Burger Contest!  They want entrants to get their creative juices flowing and submit their recipe on the No Ordinary Burger contest page.

Thanks to the first-ever “No Ordinary Burger Recipe Contest,” sponsored by the National Pork Board and Johnsonville Sausage, backyard chefs can share their spin on the traditional burger using new Johnsonville Brat and Italian Sausage Patties – for a chance to win big!


Now through September 6, log on to www.johnsonville.com/burgercontest to submit your recipe and vote for your favorite pork burger. Two grand prize winners will be awarded a year’s worth of groceries from Walmart and have their recipes featured on Johnsonville Brat and Italian Sausage Patty boxes.

I created a really simple burger/sandwich with Johnsonville pork burgers. I decided to create mine with items I had around the house, and I came up with the Honey Mustard Cheddar Pork Classic sandwich:

It was super easy to make. I cooked the patty for about 5 minutes on each side, melted cheddar cheese on top, smothered it with honey mustard sauce, and enjoyed!  Of course it would taste even better on some type of artisan bread, but again, I used what I had on hand.  It was quite delicious, if I do say so myself!

    I think my family would really like the Wisconsin Cheddar Breakfast Sausage Links. I’ve never seen those before…..

    our fav way to make the johnsonville burgers is to grill with fresh sliced pineapple and serve together on hawaiian bread rolls, with apricot chutney we make!

  198. I like their Apple Chicken Sausage. What a combination. I use to think of apples only with pork but its great with chicken.
