Acoustic Research Wireless indoor or outdoor speaker review

We do quite a bit of entertaining during the summer months (well and even in spring and fall, since we live in California!), and during our BBQs, we like to have a little music to go along with the fun and laughs. But how do we pipe in music outdoors? Well, it used to be a problem, but not anymore.

My husband and I (oh, and our daughter too), are completely in love with the Acoustic Research Wireless indoor or outdoor speaker ($129.99 MSRP). We have had little portable iPod speakers in the past, but they didn’t provide the sound we wanted for a party. They also weren’t as attractive as this one:

How clever is this? It looks just like a porch light or lantern, and blends in so nicely with our backyard. It was funny, the first time I went to try it out, my daughter and her friends were out front painting their nails. I set up the transmitter inside, with my iPod attached, and I brought the speaker outside. She and her friends were very confused, wondering what it was. I came back in and started the music and they that it was the neatest thing ever. They continued to paint their nails while rocking out to music 🙂

Set up was really easy.  Simply plug the speaker into an electrical outlet – indoors or outdoors, then plug the wires into the transmitter (so easy that even I didn’t need help!).  Plug the other end of the color wires into your iPod and you are all set to go!

This is a whole lot of speaker for a very inexpensive price.  This would be a fabulous gift idea for kids, teens and adults – or for anyone who loves music! The Acoustic Research Wireless indoor or outdoor speaker is available Lowe’s, PC Richards, and Amazon (for $84.99).
