Tea Collection Review ~ Modern Mexico Collection

It’s that time of year again!  Not only is it time to shop for back to school clothing but Fall is rapidly approaching as well. I was recently introduced to a wonderful children’s clothing company called Tea Collection. Tea Collection makes high-quality, unique children’s clothing in sizes 0-12 so you can find the perfect piece for every child.

Each season you will find a new Tea collection based upon the designer’s travels’. For Fall 2011, they have a brand new Modern Mexico collection that was inspired by the colors and culture they discovered on a recent trip to Mexico. The girls collection has a decidedly Modern Mexico accent while the boy’s collection is inspired by super stripes and the magical spirit of the Mayan jaguars.

Our 6 year old received the Hombres Stripe Henley, Jaguares de Chiapas Tee and the Surplus Playwear Pants in Lizard to enjoy. I loved the softness of the shirts and Wyatt said they were very comfortable to wear and play in. The pants were a little snug on him and fit more like a slim cut pant than a regular cut. While they fit great in length they were pretty snug around the waist so he probably won’t get as much use out of them as I’d prefer this fall but overall they are great. They also got some grass stains on them from Wyatt playing in them and the stains washed out easily and the pants held up well after washing too. Not to mention, how grown-up Wyatt looked in his Tea Collection clothing!

Our 8 year old received the Bird of Paradise dress, Flores de Calabaza Dress, Marimba Mini Dress and Skinny Stretch Leggings in Radish. I loved the colors in the Bird of Paradise dress and the Radish leggings matched it perfectly too. Our son even spent awhile trying to count all the birds on his sister’s dress until she got tired of having to be still while he counted! The Mini Marimba Dress is not only perfect for the last of summer but can easily be paired with a long sleeve shirt and leggings making it a year-round outfit to enjoy. The Flores de Calabaza (Mexican for squash blossom) dress is beautiful and while it can be worn alone, it pairs nicely with leggings also. I actually put it with a pair of my daughter’s dark stone washed skinny jeans and she looked so cute!

One of my favorite things about Tea Collection is how almost every piece of Tea Collection clothing can easily be mixed and matched. Tea Collection also sells womens clothing (which is a plus for me!) and for those you who love a good bargain like I do, they have a great sale selection too!
