Secure Your Life with SentrySafe & Master Lock

SentrySafe - XX Large Digital Fire Safe

Disclosure review

With spring cleaning now underway for so many people, I have a little secret that I must confess. On just about any given day, if you were to walk into my home, it’d most likely be clean. Everything within my house has a spot in which it belongs and I do my best to keep up with the daily chores. The tumbleweeds of pet hair are taken care of, the blankets are neatly folded, the dishes are put away, the beds are made, the laundry is done, and even the kids’ toys are kept tidy. However, things aren’t always what they seem. You see, paper is my downfall. As simple as it may be, paper in numbers can quickly become a rather large issue especially when there are important papers involved. While spring cleaning may be a task that many have recently embarked on, another undertaking that folks have recently completed was the dreaded filing of their taxes. With the tax deadline having just passed, my trouble with the disastrous piles of papers strategically hidden throughout our house was more concerning than ever. Let’s face it, digging through piles of old mail and random oddities while searching for essential documents is far from ideal. In all honesty, it’s a rather daunting task.

Since moving into our house, many of our papers have found a home within a wooden hope chest. While the chest itself added to the room in a decorative sense, it was merely used for hiding the clutter that had become of my once small stack of papers. It helped to keep everything in one place and it helped to keep the room’s sense of being clean intact. After all, everything did have its place… kind of.

The clutter was hidden. There was no mess to be seen. But, for me, I knew it was there and that alone drove me bonkers. When it came time to file our taxes for the year, everything came to a screeching halt. Where were all of those important papers? I knew they were in there… somewhere. Finding them in the mess however, well, that could’ve been likened to finding a needle in a haystack. There had to be a better way. And after discussing this debacle with a friend who conveniently brought up the “what if” scenarios of a fire, water damage, or worse, I knew that there had to not only be a better way but a safer way.

For that, I turned to SentrySafe.

SentrySafe Logo

When you hear the name SentrySafe, the word “safe” comes to mind, not only in the sense of being safe but the act of keeping things safe through the protection of – what else?  – a safe.

Family-owned, spanning three generations and 80 years, SentrySafe is proud to be the security container pioneer and world-leader. You can count on SentrySafe to help protect and organize the important, irreplaceable things in your life.

After recently being presented with the opportunity to showcase this amazing brand, I knew that it was finally time to kick my own spring cleaning into high gear. I finally tore into my paper mess and sorted each and every sheet properly. Whether they were personal papers, documents pertaining to our house, bills and receipts of payment, the kids’ artwork, paperwork for our vehicles, insurance plans, or something else, each item truly needed its own place to belong. The trouble with that, for me, has always been keeping everything safe from harm. The kids like to get into things that aren’t theirs, the cats have a knack for lying on paper, and the dog simply thinks that everything is a toy. For the longest time, I was content with having everything stored in that hope chest because, technically, it was put away. I fell into a state of complacency by simply having things stored away. After all, out of sight meant out of mind. However, thanks to some help from SentrySafe, that has all changed.

They were kind enough to provide me with the SentrySafe XX Large Digital Fire Safe and to say that it is absolutely amazing would be a huge understatement.

SentrySafe - XX Large Digital Fire Safe

Once it arrived on my doorstep, I knew that this was a special feature. You see, the delivery guys in the area frequent our house for one delivery or another but this particular one was different. While wheeling it up to our front door, the delivery guy commended me for our “smart preparation.” Of course, he tossed in a few jokes about being well prepared for things like the zombie apocalypse but, in all seriousness, he was thrilled that I was smart enough to welcome such an item into our home due to the simple fact that it truly does help to keep some of your most important belongings safe in the event of a possible catastrophe. His praise alone was enough to get excited about SentrySafe.

The XX-Large Water/Fire-Resistant Safe provides reliable protection for important documents and valuables. The safe includes a backlit dual electronic lock with key, pry-resistant hinge bar, and 6 large, 1-inch bolts so you can feel confident your most important items are protected.

Though the package itself was a bit heavy as to be expected, I had to leave it by the door until the mister came home from work. Once he arrived, you can surely bet that we tore into that box rather quickly to unveil our brand new SentrySafe XX Large Digital Fire Safe.

Once the box was open, step one was figuring out how to actually open the safe. This particular model features two entry options which I love. The Dual Key Lock helps to further protect your safe from unauthorized access with an additional key lock to accompany the digital lock. With this, you can set up your safe to either need the code alone or the combination of the code and key to gain entry. I never thought that a safe could be doubly safe until I was introduced to this technology. The added security is always a good thing.

Once you get past the locks, you’ll find that what lies beyond that beautifully backlit keypad is the amazing bone structure of the safe as a whole. For those of you that are familiar with safes, you may know that many feature bolts as a locking mechanism. The SentrySafe XX Large Digital Fire Safe features that same bolt-lock mechanism but on a higher level. You see, this safe is outfitted with six live-locking bolts that provide advance protection against theft. That, along with the aforementioned pry-resistant hinge bar, helps to reinforce the safe itself and keep your belongings secure.

Now, as I’m sure you could imagine, SentrySafe is quite adamant about keeping their products and, in turn, your belongings safe from harm. In addition to being safe from unwanted access, this particular safe is also both fireproof and waterproof. With these fire and water protection features, you can rest easy in knowing that your belongings are not only secure from harm done by outsiders but also from the elements.

SentrySafe - Fire Protection

The SentrySafe Fire Protection guarantees that the safe can withstand and survive in a fire for as long as one hour in up to 1700˚F.

SentrySafe - Water Protection

With the Water Protection, the safe is verified to be water resistant in up to 8” of water for up to 24-hours!

Now while many safes could, in theory, keep your belongings safe to some degree, SentrySafe is the leader in safe keeping and their bold guarantees prove just that. For example, SentrySafe offers customers an After Fire Replacement Guarantee and, in doing so, they promise to replace any fire-resistant product in the event of damage due to a fire. Not only do they stand by their products and help you to keep your items safe and secure but they stand by their customers and help folks to get back on their feet after a catastrophe strikes.

SentrySafe - After Fire Replacement Guarantee

In addition to guaranteeing and even replacing your safe in the event of a fire, SentrySafe offers its customers up to $50,000 of insurance protection for your valuables stored within their products. For this, customers simply need to enroll in the SentrySafe $50,000 Fire Protection Guarantee Program. The program reimburses consumers for direct physical loss of contents stored within the SentrySafe.

SentrySafe - 50000 Fire Protection Guarantee

Now, let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

The SentrySafe XX Large Digital Fire Safe is a bit on the large side from my perspective but rightfully so. With exterior measurements of 23.8” x 18.6” x 19.3” we did find that it was a bit difficult to find a place to store it but I am glad that its size allows you to secure a good amount of valuables and personal items. At 125lbs, it is certainly not a safe that could easily be carried off and, thanks to the added security of the bolt down hardware included with purchase and its overall impact resistant steel construction, you can truly make your safe, well, safe.

While there are a great number of things that I could think of for secure storing, my main goal from the start was to find a solution for that hope chest full of important papers. The SentrySafe XX Large Digital Fire Safe and its interior features are perfect for exactly that. The deep file rack for instance helps to keep all of those important documents well organized and, of course, secure.

SentrySafe - File Tray

The deep multi-position tray is also a great asset for storing smaller items for safe keeping. The fact that you can reposition the tray as needed to make it fit and work well for the items in which you wish to store only lends to its greatness. Whether you’re storing jewelry, passports, or even electronics, this tray is sure to work well for you. And, in the event that you need to store a larger item, the entire tray is removable if you need to do so.

SentrySafe - Small Tray

Overall, the addition of the SentrySafe to our home has been wondrous. Not only have I finally been able to get all of our valuables, documents, and important items sorted, organized, and securely stored but, like the delivery guy said, I am preparing my family for the future.

For those of you who aren’t aware, the SentrySafe brand is part of the Master Lock family and they too are determined to help make the world a safer place one household at a time.
