Your 4th of July Party Can Be a “Tastefully Simple” Occasion

Disclosure Giveaway
I love hosting 4th of July parties and am definitely excited that it’s coming up in only a couple of weeks. We have a great time with friends hanging out, enjoying each others’ company, watching fireworks and of course eating!  While I really do love entertaining, the initial task of deciding what to  make and serve often leaves me wishing I had a head start.  And that’s exactly what Tastefully Simple provides.

I was introduced to Tastefully Simple about 15 years ago at a home party.  Truth be told I didn’t really want to go, because well… home party, you know?!  The pressure to buy something that you don’t really want, but feel obligated to, I’m sure you’ve been there.  Oh, am I glad I did not find an excuse to not attend!  From the first sample of Bountiful Beer Bread and Howlin’ Horseradish Dip Mix (which I think has been retired 🙁 ), I was hooked on Tastefully Simple products.  I even booked a party in my own home, so I could share the goodness of Tastefully Simple with more of my friends and of course earn some products for myself.

The internet has evolved since then, and you can now purchase Tastefully Simple online and don’t need to go to or host a party to buy their products (although you still can, and it’s a lot of fun to host and/or attend one!).  Tastefully Simple was kind enough to send me a variety of their products:

Amaretto Crunch Coffee Cake Mix
Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix
Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix
Bountiful Beer Bread Mix
Dill Pickle Dip Mix
Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix

And I want to show you how you can use some of them to make your 4th of July Party planning tasty and simple.

One item I find that always goes over well at parties is cookies.  Kids like them, adults like them, there never seems to be any left!  The thing I love about Tastefully Simple is that their products are so versatile.  They are great when made for what they are labeled for.  In this case the Cinnamon Muffin Melt Mix I’m sure makes delectable muffins.  But add 3/4 stick of melted butter and an egg and you get 2 1/2 to 3 dozen Snickerdoodle Cookies.  A sure hit for a 4th of July Party!

Delicious hot in winter or for your morning break, but for a hot day in July a frap is where it’s at.  I added 6 tablespoons of the mix to 5 oz of vanilla almond milk and 1 1/2 cups of ice to make an iced beverage that rivals any coffee house.  I have to admit that the above recipe is actually “two servings,”  I honestly don’t think one is enough 🙂  The powdered mix can be added to most anything you want to make have a chai flavor to it.  You can also add it to frosting or cream cheese to make cakes.  So many possibilities.

This is one product you can never go wrong with!  Made from the box, it is perfect to eat with soup or chili (it’s our usual go to item for eating with either of those two).  But you can do almost anything with 12 oz of beer or soda and this bread mix.  Make it savory, make it sweet, make it into a bowl (great for putting dip in for parties!).  The Bountiful Beer Bread Mix is a blank slate for your culinary imagination.  I added chocolate chips and a couple of ripe bananas, a can of dark soda to the bread mix and this sweet, chocolatey, moist and chewy bread is what my effortless labor rewarded us with.

In fall and winter this is one of my favorite soups to make along with the Bountiful Beer Bread.  But it’s a little hot in Texas in summer to be sipping soup.  My husband loves potato pancakes, but I make them so rarely because of the time and effort it takes.  By using the Perfectly Potato Cheddar Soup Mix as my base, adding some eggs and flour, I was on easy street when I whipped a batch of hearty potato pancakes up for him the other day.  They are perfectly seasoned, and I like the extra veggies in them.

potato-pancakesI still have plans for our party on the 4th by making a dip for veggies with the Dill Pickle Dip Mix and making these Star Cake Pops with the Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix.  As for the Amaretto Crunch Coffee Cake Mix, well that sounds great just as is, and I’ll be making that the next time my girlfriends come over for coffee.

As you can see, Tastefully Simple products have unlimited potential when it comes to your entertaining needs.  Simply make them out of the box or add your own twist and flair to the base mixes or other products.  Any way you choose to create them, I bet you’ll agree with me that they are “Tastefully Simple.”
