There is no other product like it – it is definitely one of a kind. What other product has as many uses? None that I can think of! The product I am proud to talk about today is Arm & Hammer Baking Soda.
As part of the Switch & Save Challenge, I am sent a new product to try out each month. Last month I tried the Advance White Brilliant Sparkle Toothpaste, and this month I am reviewing Arm & Hammer Baking Soda (one of my favorite products ever!).
As mentioned above, Arm & Hammer Baking Soda is SO versatile. In the past I have used it to bake with, to deodorize my refrigerator, as a cleaning agent for tough to remove spots on hard surfaces, and even with my toothpaste. Little did I know that there are so many things that I can use it for. Did you know that it can be used as an exfoliant? I didn’t either – but that makes perfect sense. It can also sooth minor skin irritations (just make a paste with a little bit of water). Arm & Hammer Baking Soda can be used to clarify hair too.
Not only is using Arm & Hammer Baking Soda for these daily activities less expensive than traditional methods, it it quite cost-effective. There are countless uses under $1.00. I love that 🙂 I also love cleaning without harsh chemicals (I do love my kids and cats!), and knowing that I am deodorizing in a safe manner always makes me feel good too. There is nothing better than a fresh smelling house.
I have been using Arm & Hammer Baking Soda on pretty much everything for the past week or so, and it is my new best friend. It is the first thing that pops into my head when I am cleaning, or when I want to freshen something.
I cleaned the grout in my kitchen countertop tile by mixing baking soda and water, to make a paste. It worked beautifully!
I will be purchasing a huge box of baking soda next time I am at the store, for maximum savings and ultimate cleaning. Arm & Hammer Baking Soda is available in several sizes (1 lb, 2 lb, 4 lb. or 13.5 lb) and is also available in resealable bags!
One of my favorite uses is on our tile. We have this particular tile in our small laundry room and in the downstairs bathroom. It is kind of porous with tiny little “lines”. Dirt always gets trapped in the little crevices and I have to get down on my hands and knees every so often to give the tile a good cleaning. This time I made a paste with baking soda and water, and an old toothbrush (my husband probably wouldn’t appreciate it if I used his…). I just cleaned the tile yesterday, and wanted to show you the results. look at the tile in the corner of both pictures:

Stay tuned – next week I will be sharing some tips and secrets for other ways to use Arm & Hammer Baking Soda!

I love baking soda!
I cook with it, clean my teeth with it and sometimes I have to use it to put out fires on my stove. This stuff is so handy!
WOW! I never thought of using it on the floor! I am going to have to try that. Like you I have some trouble spots with those tiny pores! Thanks for the tip!
It did a great job on your grout.
What a difference! I will have to keep this in mind when cleaning!
