Barbie and the Secret Door New from Mattel!

Recently, we had the opportunity to hold a super fun Barbie and the Secret Door party! I invited Paige’s cousin, Kaitlyn, her best friend Myiah and Myiah’s little sister, Allie. Unfortunately, Mary and Alice came down with a bug and were unable to join us. Unfortunately, it’s that time of the year.  No worries, we’ve rescheduled for a get together in a couple of weeks!

I had planned on a Friendship Tea Party, but Kaityn and Paige just wanted pretzles and chips…and then they moved into Paige’s room.  At least they were comfortable!

Barbie and the Secret Door
To start, we watched Barbie and the Secret Door, the girls loved it! Of course, what’s not to love when a princess, meets a fairy and a mermaid who work together to save a magical kingdom? Starring the beautiful and shy Alexa who would rather be reading (not a bad thing in my opinion!), Alexa walks into a magical world where she makes friends with Romy and Nori to fight off evil and defeat Malucia. Alexa finds her magical powers and together the friends conquer all!

I was really surprised, the girls watched the entire movie without uttering a peep. It held their attention and when I asked Paige what her favorite part of the movie was, she said it was all of the singing and dancing.

Of course!

I certainly appreciated the theme of friendship and finding new friends. It’s not an easy thing to do, but you never know until you try.  Even at the young age of 7, Paige is one of those kind-hearted people who is a friend to everyone.  It warms my heart to hear her talk of recesses where she played with someone new or reached out to someone who looked like they needed a friend.

Barbie and the Secret Door Toys
Paige and Kaitlyn had a blast playing with all of the Barbie goodies included in our home party kit.  They even spent some time after their snack coloring pictures for Mary and Alice.

Barbie and the Secret Door is now available in stores and online. Purchase it in DVD at stores like Target, Toys R Us and Walmart or online from Amazon or digital formats available from iTunes.  I have a feeling it’s going to be a well loved movie in our house!

*I participated in an In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel. I received product samples to facilitate my party and a promotional item to thank me for participating.*
