A couple of months ago, I posted about the assembly process of my new
Sauder desk.
Gosh how I love this desk! It has just the right amount of drawers and nooks for everything I need. My desk is neat and tidy and I can work much more efficiently than I did previously, before I had a desk OR home office.
I am enjoying having my own office – it is nice to finally be organized, and for everything to have its place. It has been such an important part of my new home office, as I not only use it as a traditional desk, but have found several other ways to use it!

My office is my very own place for all things blogging related, but I don’t have a huge amount of space in my office. I have found that my
Sauder desk is perfect as a photography table! I can set up my backdrops, tents and lights with ease, and even leave a shoot overnight if need be, without cluttering up the rest of the house. Previously I had to set up shop next to a window, find a table or chair big enough to accommodate my backdrops, etc., and it was always something I dreaded doing. If I didn’t finish my shoot on the day I setup, it kind of made the house look messy to have all of my props scattered around. Now I can finish right where I left off the next day (or 3 days later!) if I want. It’s a beautiful thing!

I also use my desk and office for my oil painting. This will be especially handy in the winter. Of course, I cover the desk before painting (trust me, in the photo below, it is only partially covered, but I do cover it completely before I get messy!), as I wouldn’t want to ruin the beautiful finish! Previously I did my oil painting outdoors, as that is the only place there was enough room to spread out. Our house is not huge, so available space is always at a minimum. I don’t have to worry about wind knocking over my masterpiece, or bringing everything in when I’m done. Now even if it is raining, I can just head upstairs and settle in my office with my paint brushes and some soothing music!

I continue to be impressed by the quality and durability of my
Sauder desk. I have a feeling that I will enjoy it for many years to come, in one room or another, and in this house, or a future house. It is versatile and just my style…actually a style that I can use anywhere.
