When I was 14-years old and I started wearing contact lenses. I wore them until I was 40 years old actually, and by the time I decided to have laser surgery done, my eyes were really “tired”. Through the years I tried several different types of saline solution – some were better than others, but ultimately, none of them worked for me finally.

My daughter is 14-years old now, and started wearing contact lenses last year. I was really sorry when I learned that she needed them, as I remember the struggles I went through. Though wearing them is not fun, by any means, they do simplify life in many ways. At least there are options now, instead of being stuck with just glasses {which she also has}.

We have had an exceptionally cold winter here in Northern California, which has required us to run our heater more than usual. We also have the vents that are in the ceilings. My daughter often experiences ‘dry eyes’ due to this air blowing on her, which is bothersome. That coupled with other everyday conditions that dry the eyes, cause her to take her contacts out the minute she gets home from school – they are that uncomfortable. However, since she started using Bausch + Lomb Biotrue, she has been leaving them in until dinnertime or so. I asked her if the new solution made that much of a difference and she said it made a big difference. She felt that they were more lubricated, so her contacts move around on her eyes more easily. She noticed less of the “sand in the eyes” feeling too. Ugh, I remember that feeling well and it makes me cringe!

She also mentioned that although it is lubricating, it doesn’t feel slimy. I know exactly what she is talking about – yuck!

I want to make sure we keep my daughter’s eyes as healthy and comfortable as we can. If she is anything like me, she will be wearing them for years and years, and it is a good feeling to know that she is using a product that helps her get through the day without worrying about her eyes being scratchy.
