Concord, CA Plastic Surgeon Eric Mariotti, M.D.
One of my hesitations of having plastic surgery is that it might go horribly wrong. You can bet that if I ever decide to go the surgery route, that I will be thoroughly researching the doctor I choose. This is definitely not something to take lightly – it can be life altering in a good way or a bad way. I have seen so many celebrities going “under the knife” and many times, I think they look worse than they did before surgery. Then they have to go to another doctor to fix things up a bit (more surgery!).
There are several things. I would want to talk to past patients. I would search high and low online for reviews and personal experiences with a particular doctor. One thing that is really important to me with any surgery is how well the doctor cares for you after surgery. This was crucial for me when I had my neck surgery a couple of years ago. Bedside manner is important, and credentials should be checked out. One other thing I would be leery of is if you go in for consultation and feel that they are trying to sell you more than you need.
After reading about several SF Bay Area plastic surgeons, I discovered Dr. Mariotti, and I am impressed! Dr. Eric Mariotti studied at University of California. He has board certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and belongs to many plastic surgery societies. I am even MORE impressed to learn that he volunteered with Operation Hope in the Phillipines, with a group of doctors and nurses. They operated on children that were born with cleft lips and cleft palates. That alone says a lot about Dr. Mariotti.
Just about everything! Whether you want to look a bit younger in the face, or want to lift, nip or tuck other areas of your body, Dr. Mariotti can help! He performs face & neck lifts, brow lifts, rhinoplasty, chin surgery and many other facial surgeries. For the body, he offers breast lifts, augmentation, reduction and reconstruction (and other related services). Also available are body contouring (including liposuction), tummy tucks, thigh, butt & arm lifts and a Mommy Makeover (I love the idea of the Mommy Makeover!). Having kids can definitely change a body, but if you are not happy with the way you look, there are options!
Here is an example of what a tummy tuck can achieve:
I like that he has advanced training in many areas, and also that he keeps up with the latest techniques. From his website:
Advanced training in the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery including body contouring, facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, laser resurfacing, liposuction, rhinoplasty and skin rejuvenation. Trained in the latest techniques of breast reconstruction, facial trauma, complex wound management, burn management, oncological reconstruction and sentinel node mapping for skin cancer.
If you are considering having plastic surgery, I certainly hope you will visit plastic surgeon Dr. Mariotti for a consultation!
