The Boppy Custom Fit Total Body Pillow was exactly everything I needed for the many physical ailments that have stemmed from my pregnancy. Pregnancy takes a toll on the body in all sorts of ways. Sometimes everything aches. There are the typical headaches and even migraines, plus the usual back aches from carrying such a big creature that you’re not used to carrying in your belly. Often depending on the baby’s position, you’ll end up with those sciatic nerve pains that can even make your legs start to hurt. Now, if you haven’t been pregnant yet, I’m not trying to scare you. I had easy peasy pregnancies with most of my babies but this one has been a bit rough!

The Boppy Custom Fit Total Body Pillow was designed by a physical therapist and allows you to modify the pillow for your own personal comfort in dealing with many of those pains. You can use the head/neck piece of the pillow for your aching neck or just relaxing on the couch like you’re hopefully finding time to do. The middle piece is intended for belly and back support and you can use it for support on either side. The long design on the pillow helps to alleviate the pressure that that big baby belly is putting on your hips.

When I sleep at night, I tend to use the three-piece pillow all connected as one for comfort on my head and neck, a spot for my belly to rest, and to raise my leg up which somehow helps me to feel like I have more room. Sometimes I take off the belly support if my belly feels “smaller” that day and I don’t want the support under it, or I lay with my back facing the edge of the pillow. If you’re wondering if I just posed for this picture, my exhausted self really did take a two-hour nap after we got these! It’s just too comfortable not to go to sleep.

Now I did look up reviews when I was considering the Boppy Custom Fit Total Body Pillow and the only negative review I saw, I wanted to mention because I’d like to dissent from it. Someone said that the velcro bothered them and I wholeheartedly disagree with that. Reading this review, I was nervous about trying it because I didn’t want to be poked by velcro. The velcro is on the pillow so that you can disconnect and/or rearrange the pillow in order to customize it, so it serves a purpose. I am sleeping with this pillow every single night and I can tell you right now that I absolutely do not feel any velcro at all. Be sure that you are properly connecting your pillow by lining up the hook and loop of the velcro on each piece because you should definitely not feel it!

The Boppy Custom Fit Total Body Pillow is a perfect length for me and not too firm but also not far too soft. I love that I can change it up for what I’m doing and how I’m feeling. It’s machine washable which is a huge plus because I’ve had body pillows that you couldn’t wash before and it really was frustrating trying to clean them. The design on it is adorable, not that an unattractive design would discourage me from such a cool and helpful pillow anyway!
