I occasionally enjoy a glass or two of wine – especially during the holidays, celebrations, while listening to music and when spending quality time with my husband.  Sometimes in the evening my husband and I will sit in our backyard and catch up the days events over a tasty adult beverage. I do love wine, but I do not love the calories that come along with it.

I have vowed to eat (and drink) better this year, and so far I am doing pretty good, and I am proud of myself. Did you know that 75% of people break their resolutions after one week? I have to admit that I have broken most of mine in the past, but I am determined this time! I am actually calling it a “lifestyle change” instead of a resolution, because I know I need to make changes for good.

I received a couple of bottles of Brancott Estate Flight Song wines to sample.  I received Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio – two of my favorite varietals (I’m a white wine kind of girl). I decided to share them with my husband, pairing them with our grilled chicken dinner. We had a blast chatting about life, our dreams and our future, and of course sampling this yummy wine.

The Brancott Estate Sauvignon Blanc was my favorite, and my husband favored the Pinot Grigio. We agreed though,that each wine was fantastic and full of flavor. The Sauvignon Blanc has more of a fruity-citrusy flavor which I have always loved. It has a small bite to it that is just right. The Pinot Grigio is a little fruity, but also has hints of floral. It is very light and “smooth” (that’s the best way I can describe it). We also commented that not only are these wines lower in calories than comparable wine varieties, but we actually prefer the Brancott Estate wines. That is saying a lot for us, as we are both kind of particular!

Brancott Estate Flight Song wine will definitely be a big help with my lifestyle change, as I won’t have to give up my wine! Along with changing my eating habits, I can still enjoy an adult beverage that not only has 20% less calories that similar wines, but it tastes really good. I mean REALLY good! I don’t feel as if I am sacrificing anything at all – just enjoying an awesome glass of white wine.

It’s no wonder really, that they are so good, as Brancott Estate was the very first to plant and then create the world’s first Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc wine (they are very good at what they do!). This has become a popular style in our country’s wine industry, and I thank them for that!
