October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I wanted to share with you some very easy ways you can help make a difference by purchasing products you already use! There are many, many generous companies that are donating to various breast cancer research, funds and programs. Here are a few programs I have found – please keep your eye out for “pink” products and other specially marked packaging next time you go shopping.

Conair will donate a minimum of $100,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation based on the sale of products from the Power of Pink collection. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide. Conair’s “The Power of Pink” initiative, now in its 7th year, has raised almost $600,000, to date. Products in the pink collection include hair dryers, straighteners, curling irons, brushes and hot rollers, as well as other grooming and travel tools. To check out these great, pink products, visit http://www.conair.com/Breast_Cancer_Month/.
Yoplait “Save Lids to Save Lives” program. Simply collect and send in your pink Yoplait lids {Sept through Oct}, by December 31, 2010. Yoplait will donate .10 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. You can also send a gift to a friend, which will help even more. Please see the Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives on Facebook to learn more.
This year again, Simple Green is helping too! If you already use the multi-surface cleaner from their ‘Naturals’ line {or even if you don’t!}, you can purchase Simple Green Pink Ribbon and 5% of wholesale sales go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation-for education programs, screening & early detection, and research. Simple Green Pink Ribbon is a ready to use multi-surface cleaner made from 100% naturally-sourced ingredients. It is non-toxic – safer for you, your family and the environment.
Other companies helping out – keep your eye out for their pink packaged products: M & M’s Limited Edition Hershey Kisses Peppermint Patties with Pink centers Clinique butter shine lipstick

Hooray! I didn’t know about Conair’s – that’s great!
There are so many companies this year, I’m amazed!
I love pink products – and how wonderful that they benefit a great cause. Thanks for highlighting this!
