My kids love to listen to music. They have three different albums they love listening to (including one featuring Elsa and Anna, like the rest of the population). Lola and Malone often complain that they can’t really hear the music streaming from my iPhone. And in a lot of ways, they are right. The speaker for the iPhone just isn’t that powerful. So even though we adore listening to music, it didn’t always feel like the best idea.
That is, until I discovered the Monster SuperStar, a lightweight and water resistant portable Bluetooth speaker.
The
SuperStar was a musical game changer for our family. The speaker is just a little bit larger in size than my iPhone 6, which makes it really easy to throw in my purse and take it with us. We’ve rocked out at the splash pad and enjoyed it at a recent pool party.
I also love taking it into the bathroom with me when I shower. There are so many nights when a hot shower and some killer 90’s music turns my day around. This speaker packs a powerful sound punch and I love that I can hear my music over the sound of the noise of the water in the shower. My neighbors do not share the same affection as I do for this. But I don’t really like their dog that barks at 4:00 am, so we’ll just call it even.
One really neat thing about the SuperStar is that it has a microphone built into it, which means it can be used as a speakerphone. There are times when we’re on vacation or at the beach and my husband has to sneak away to take a call at work. Having a built in microphone and speaker with amazing sound clarity means he can often work and play at the same time.
In addition to the great sound quality and speakerphone, the SuperStar has a silicone, water-resistant cover. This model isn’t waterproof, but is tough enough to withstand a few splashes at the pool or getting rained on while you’re camping. Unlike my iPhone, I’m not afraid to let my kids get up close and enjoy the music coming out of the speakers.
